Hello,

 It has to happen!  Grin

 A scaled down, single ended overtone special.

 Bare bones, but with all the tones.

 No footswitching, you toggle it via a switch on the front plate.

 This is my contribution (some at another place will argue it's my greed, but thats OK) for low volume D style amp, and for those on a budget.

  It should serve as a good introduction to this style, without breaking the bank (I hope).

  Price unknown yet but believe me I am trying hard to keep it real low for this type of handwired amp!

  Should be released in 3 weeks or so.

Thanks.

For those in the know, they can actually take out the signal (the mini wont have loop) and it'd act sort of like a preamp.

So perhaps, at prices close to a solid state D style pedal, people can actually get the D style preamp, tubes.

Of course, amp must be on load at all times, even if used as a preamp.

Perhaps Id put 2 standby swicthes - 1 for preamp, and 1 for power amp.

A derivative of this would definitely be an actual preamp (no power stage), but I am getting ahead of myself.

Hi Nick,
Nice to hear that.
D style preamp (RECKMOUNTABLE) with channel and boost switch, would be a great idea.
One can use it together with good rack processor and stereo tube power amp like VHT, Marshall, Mesa or CERIATONE 2-50w power amp (I’m dreaming) :Smiley.

Anyway small D amp is good idea as well, I already have couple of guys interested here in UK.

Nik if you are planning a Single ended amp, better if it could be around 10 watts or so. I have a 5w SE (Ampmaker) which started me off with this bug, but I find it a little underpowered for rehearsals with an overpowering drummer.

Hey man. I will keep it 5W so they stay indoors. Please buy the full featured amp for gigs and rehearsals! LOL!

I might even color it pink so the missus will like it.

The only mod I'd do is to have it vibrate via footswitch.

Damn... this looks interesting indeed...

Edit: 5w will not be too little? Because the 50w overtone is not that loud (at least on the clean channel)...

i think Nik should make it about 10 watts via 6L6 or EL34 and have i 6V6 bias switch to lower the power to around 5 watts

Kindof like the Fuchs lucky 7. Fixed bias
7 watts for EL 34
less than 5 watts for 6V6

I think I need to have one of these devil amps Grin  My wife is going to kill me if she finds out I'm going to purchase another amp.
I've been trying to not give into my GAS attacks...it's only a month or so since the last attack.  Which...by the way was cured with a SC245 Goldtop Grin
Now this...arrrgh...I must be good...I must be good...
