Hi,

i've been away for a while, mainly due to a biking accident where I hurt my left hand, so I couldn't really play for the past 2-3 months. I received my C-lator last week, so I decided to remove my cast an record a demo video. Initially, it hurt a bit, and the fingers have no strength in them. but in the end I put something together. The video was mean't to show the difference when using the overtone with and without the C-lator. I talk too much  Chair Dance so the video is long (18min). Its split into 2 sections (Part 1 & Part 2).

I'd appreciate your feedback here before I post the links anywhere else. thanks Smiley

Hey Marin,

Great to see you in action again and Iā€™m glad you are well my friend.
What a lovely video with  great explanations and samples.
Take it easy with bikes! We need you much more here in a guitar world.
Best wishes

HI Marin,

Hope you're doing well with your recovery. That was a nasty drop you made.

Excellent explained vid. Even for noobs about this amp it will sure help to get a good picture.

One note: Maybe you can try setting your IN control on the Clator to the max. The compression varies than more with the pick attack and the tone becomes rounder. In addition you can set up your amp brighter if that's your taste.

thanks, It wasn't me in the video (thank God...) Smiley

I'll try more settings with the c-lator. I haven't had much playing time. I just wanted to share my first impressions which were positive. As I said in the video, I was a bit sceptical about the improvements which the buffered loops could bring. For example, i never used the kleinulator much, but the clator is something else.

Ha Marin
I allready posted on youtube but still, Maybe the a/b diffence isn';t quite as clear as it could be because it's spread over 2 video's?
I even found the added effects a bit unclear. Maybe you have used a different mic/setup in previous recordings?
Loved you humorous presentation though. And good to hear it wasn't you in that video.
I agreee with Erwin. I have my Return turned all the way up as well. Not sure which pot on your C-lator that is though. The names are different.

One thing that is clear for me. When you use a C-lator it takes away some brightness and perhaps even some pf the dynamics/liveliness of the sound? It does make it rounder and sweeter.

The amp settings are the same throughout the 2 videos. Unfortunately, I had to render / edit the 2 videos separately because of the 10min limit on youtube.

I hear you when you say that there is no perceptable difference between the samples.

I think thats because I talk to much! Cheesy

I've had criticism that I only play in my demo's and never show my face so I went the other way here! Wink

I know this has been covered before in the forums, but it can't hurt to repost:

Controls (in the form of C-lator = Kleinulator):

Drive = Send
In = Return
Out = Recovery

Interesting, huh?  So yeah, the In should usually be set to max (according to Chris and Nik) and the Drive is set to the level where your effects don't distort.  I use the Out as a Pre-PIMV, like most and it sounds great!  It's really nice to be able to set the amp at 5 for Input/OD level/Master and use the Out knob for overall vol control.  Saturated!

Marin

Wow, I just saw these!

Hehe, nice! That was very entertaining, as well as informative!

Hope the hand is getting better now.

"...Bona-fide Boss" <- hahaha...

Let me buy you some more beer so you say "dumble" instead. That should get you more fan mails! LOL!

Thanks!
