On the 250k vs 100k pot; It's a voltage divider, but the difference makes the circuit to have a increased load on the plate with a 100k pot.  With 250k you have beside the pot behaviour more volume due to the decreased load. I'll bet it feels and plays different.

Emiel you're right; My ots sounds painfully bright without a dumblelator.
It's a little different; I changed my presence circuit a little further to match it with g12-65 speakers. Also my dumblelator has some tinkering in the low end.

The les paul in the pic; it's owned by the the guy that had the Van Weelden. It isn't a real  one and it's artificially aged

Does that mean more volume (and thus more gain) with a 250K pot? I changed the pot fairly early on before the amp was properly burnt in, so it'll be difficult to compare.
