Well if you have shared bias network your tubes have to be matched... with independent bias network, you can use what ever and set the bias individually.... so I would say more flexibility with the second option.

This one only shows the voltage and current consumption...
... I guess Phonic is something similar.

I can say that Samson is a good piece of HW... I opened it up and it's not a toy. It has some serious iron in there and it looks really sturdy.
I don't know anything about Phonic...

I guess not but just for your info...

The amp weighs 12kg and dimensions are H=43cm  W=37,5 D=23cm. At this moment I don't know what the shipping cost would be but at the end of the day not cheap for the whole package especially with USD - EUR exchange rate.
Just for the record...

Awesome news... now that's a customer service.

I have two 1x12" cabinets... one loaded with G12-65 and one with Celestion Gold.
The combination sounds just outstanding with my Bluesmaster.

...but if I'm using only one cabinet, it's always Gold for my Bluesmaster.

I bough this cheap power conditioner, it's working fine and good thing about it is, that it has this voltmeter on it...

...the idea was, that with volmeter I can at least follow the correlation between the wall voltage and tone I have.

...but the jury is still out on that one... I think that ear fatigue or even the way I feel at times, has more to do with that.
...but what do I know.
 Huh?
82  American Style / 5E3 Tweed Deluxe / Re: 5E3 build PT - about to blow? Or blowing as we speak?? on: June 24, 2011, 11:29:40 AM
If that amp would be on my bench I would desolder all secondary PT leads, power the amp and if you see the smoke your PT is gone.
In case of no smoke measure all the leads if voltages are OK.
83  British Style / Plexi Lead, Bass, Superlead / Re: Humming 100watt plexi on: June 23, 2011, 09:43:48 AM
Well I would not replace one by one... cause you need matched tubes.... and when you replace power tubes, you need to rebias as well.
So when you're done with preamp tubes and if problem still persist...then replace all power tubes (use the old ones if that's the only option).

Well I would start with the preamp tubes you replaced... if you have any tubes lying around and you're sure they are OK, use that and replace one by one to see if your problem goes away.

That would be my first move...

Are you sure you don't have a noisy tube in there...

Last time I watched Robben he had no dumblelator nor 2290 in the loop... all I saw was a Boss RV type pedal in front of the amp with zen and wah.
I don't need to say that he sounded awesome... definitely not to bright.
...but one thing I remember as well, he pushes that 100W amp to the limit... very very loud and that definitely helps with his tone.

It's been a while isn't it... since I recorded anything. Lately I'm spending a lot of my free time behind my bench building stuff and fixing amps.
...but you're right, I need to grab my guitar more often and play the damn thing.

I own 2 Golds and I think this speaker is the best speaker out there. Fortunately I have no issues with mine and I'm sorry to hear you have this thing with yours. A friend of mine just bought 50W Tayden for his Bluesmaster and I can't wait to hear how it stands up compared to my Celestion. He tells me it sounds warmer but I guess I need to hear it with my own ears.
Good luck...

I'm running my Champ with 6L6 since I did this mod and I have no issue with the PT.
So I guess it is safe to say C-tone transformer can take it.

I doubt I would even consider this mod if I had an original Champ.
