Could have been a bad valve but , I've not seen this happen.
Are you sure the 3.15 section of the transformer is good.

Remove the heaters at the tag strip, check both sides for shorts to ground.
You could heat shrink the damaged wires.

Looks like you have shorted the heater wires somewhere. Take it to a tech.

looking good, that's allot of filtering for a 9v device, perhaps others can chime in, I would have thought a simpler regulated power supply would suffice.
The zener  is protection, for spike/surge  and if the polarity is connected backward by accident.
what is the component marked as "10"?

It's not an easy build.
If you have made some pedals and serviced some amps then I'd say yes, You'll need good soldering technique.

I haven't looked at all the relays available, but the relay is acting as remotely operated DPDT switch.

When there is no power to the relay, wire it so it is in bypass mode.... Then all cables you deal with only switch the relay.(no signals)

To cut down on the signal path and chance of failure.
 Why not use the dumble style of foot switching and only use the relay as the switch with a manual control. Wire it so if the relay fails it defaults to the way you either prefer bypass or loop.

Just check your wiring to the foot switch jacks, can't remember what I did when I changed the jack style on the foot switch but I got it wrong.
 I used a multi meter traced them and tried different combinations till it worked.
 The foot switch is wired in a weird way.

There are 5 wires, 2 for power, 2 for switching and common.

If you get one of these out the switch will do what you describe.

I run a 1x12 and wanted a speaker rated around 100watts. The OT (50) puts out 38 watts but could peak around 70? if pushed, I'd say a speaker rated below 50 watts would be in danger if pushed hard.
There are plenty of speaker choices around so buy an unloaded cab and then pick the speaker you like the best.
On a note about  these clips they are  remixed live recordings at low audio quality. They may not reflect what you were hearing from the amp on that night or in allot of cases what was actually played.

I'd look at the voltages on the pre-amp and check the relay and tone switches, they took me a while to figure, when I built my amp.

With the channel switching, I can't remember what I did but the reversed thing caused concern.  The way I did it worked.....

I'd guess that its one of the jacks or leads running to the FX send/return giving you the issue.

Try bridging the Fx loop with a known good lead.

Try inserting a jack in and out of the FX loop sockets to see if you get anything.

If not....

Plug a signal into the power amp(fx return), see if you get something. If so your power amp is probably OK.

If you are confident to do your own work, look around the FX loop jacks for cold solder joints or bad jack sockets.
