I have only yet tried my OTS through 1 WGS ET-65 so far in my cannabilized Bass cab, and it sounds great. Tenguitars is 1 man named Henry who is able to get great deals on cabs, The head cab he sent me is really nice and in a couple weeks he will be sending me a Two R*ck style 2x12 cab at a price that beats Avatars lowest grade cab. I would suggest contacting Henry Soundperf to see if hes got any more good deals, I know he has a couple TR style head cabs left in Fender brown. I got the TR style because of the 2 holes in the back allow access to the LNFB switch. He is a great guy to deal with and very honest. He didnt want to ship my head cab because he didnt think the grill pattern was perfect. I had him ship it anyways and still cant see what he was worried about.
Anyways I have no affilliation but can say he is a great guy to deal with.
OH yeah he shipped my cab on wed and I got it on friday also, very fast

I went with a blonde tolex head cab from TenGuitars on the classifieds section of this site and here is a pic of that!

Just like Soundperf said the OTS is capable of alot of differnt styles. I put my BOSS metal zone in front of the clean channell and its the best ive ever heard the pedal sound, the clean channel is so clean and sparkly it goes well with all the dirt pedals. I only have tried the K-lator so far with time effects and its a necessity for REVERB, DELAY and CHORUS to work well with this amp but that will be mentioned 1000 times before purchase so need not judge the amp until played with this equipment, even though I loved the sound with nothing but my guitar plugged in the *Lator is a must as well!
C lator coming soon although at the RF show last night he seems to be getting by without his Dumbleator

the show was awesome, Sat 15 feet away from dumble #102 and I now know what tone I should strive to get out of my OTS. Here are some pics

Are you running a D or K Lator? That can make alot of differnce on the settings alltogether and if so how is it setup.

This morning at work I found out from co-worker that Robben Ford is playing a show in a very small venue less than 10 miles from my house in Grass Valley,CA. Within 3 minutes I had tickets in hand from online order.
I have never seen him live and cannot wait.
Just an FYI for RF fans in California there are a couple other shows 1 in Petaluma tonight.
I will try to give review on monday following the show for the many RF fans on this forum.

Pickmaster you said based on the RP100 200 system. Is it a modded digitech pedal or something?
I had an RP200 a while back that my dog pissed on and it fried, I then replaced with the Boss GT-10 which has the same features if not more, Minus whammy which I kinda miss.
Im not sure on the buffering inside either. Could you explain a little more about your setup using this pedal without C or K lator? In other words are you using the output level on the RP100/200 to match the send and return impedance from thge OTS?

That is very interesting. I often wonder from day to day if its my amp or my ears that are the problem when the amp seems to handle differntly. I will have to check mains on a good day and on a bad day to compare voltage difference.
In the US alot of people are using Furman power conditioners, Not sure if they make 220-240volt but I believe they keep the power at the right level as well. Have you tried anything like that?

I have been avoiding tinkering with this pot so far, I really just set it at 12:00 and forgot about it, mainly because I dont have an o-scope. I had read that the o-scope was necessary because human ears would not detect sweet spot, that made me think well hmm if I cant hear the difference than no one else will either so why bother.
Thanks to yall, now I will be opening up amp today and tinkering. I want the amp to sound as good as it can but honestly my biggest tonal obstacle are my fingers.
From what Soundperf said the difference can be heard while turning pot but you will have to wait for settings to take effect. How long did this take between each change?
Also I bought JJ tubes to start up amp and burn in with, and plan on upgrading later once everything else is working properly. I understand that any changes to the PI will depend on the tube that is used. The 6l6's were matched but I dont know if the Ecc83's were balanced or not?

back to the infamous PI pot this thread leaves me wondering what I am missing.
Mcinku for those of us that dont have access to an O-scope, what difference in tone are you noticing once you have it set properly?
I am just wondering if this will be a necessary adjustment for my amp since right now it sounds great. Although I want to get the most out of the amp too.
Would you be able to tell the differennce between an OTS that has PI setup and 1 that has not by ear?

The modern eagle mod is the same exact amp as the regular FM 50 or 100watt, except about 6 components values are changed a little.
It adds a LNFB switch which I am finding very useful. It changes the whole character of the amp tone
I took the layout from the reg FM and compared with the modern eagle and highlighted the changes, they are very minimal.
Oh it also adds a 3 way switch instead of 2 way for the bright switch for 2 different bright settings. I have not used the bright switch much yet, but when engaged there is a noticeable change in tone.
If you are building this amp you could ask Nik for some extra components that would allow you change from say standard OTS to FM by just resoldering in a few differnent components.
When comparing these different models your not comparing apples to oranges, its more like red apples to green apples they are still apples just taste a little different.
But HRM to non HRM is a different story.

I am the proud new owner/builder of an OTS FM50 mod eagle. It is fairly new to me ( less than a month old ) so I wont comment too much on the tone other than saying I have not 1 complaint. Until I A/B the amp with a few other amps I wont have anything to compare with.
That being said, the FM modern eagle uses a choke just the same as the other OTS's. I dont know if Robben  Fords uses a choke or not.
I dont believe any OTS are exact clones but they are very close
I have not attempted to achieve RF's tone either, Im really not RF's biggest fan although respect his ability to play the guitar.
I can say that whatever guitar you play through this amp will make a huge tonal difference as well as pup selection and the guitar volume.
As soon as I have more experience with this amp I will post an honest review.
All that said, you could pick any OTS HRM or not and you wont be dissapointed.

Be careful these amps are addicting

The footswitch for the OTS has a DIN connection.
there are 5 or 6 conductors inside cable .
What I would suggest is to contact Nik and ask what cable type he uses, then buy from local electrical supply whatever length you need and make up both ends, throw away old cable or save for later.
This will require soldering so if you ordered a prebuilt this may not be for you, but if you built your amp this will be the easiest thing to do, just match the wires up on both ends.

The c-lator cutout appears to be fairly new and unannounced to Niks arsenal.
