I use a Strymon Blue Sky with my Bluesmaster - no buffer required. The TC Hall of Fame will also work well without a buffer.

Haven't posted in a while but here's SD's 'Bodhissatva' recorded at bedroom volume with the clean channel of my Bluesmaster OTS & a Jetter GS-124 o/d pedal.

Hope you like!

5  Custom amp building, Prototypes and other amps / SoundClips / Bluesmaster clip - 'Out in the Fields' by Gary Moore on: June 08, 2013, 09:01:40 AM
Morning from Ireland guys (& girls maybe). I recorded a short clip with my Bluesmaster 100 amp on the o/d channel with PAB on - no pedals. It's Gary Moore's (RIP) guitar solo off 'Out in the Fields'.

Love this amp it can do everything & the clean channel loves pedals!!

Guitar is a heavily modified Edwards J. Page relic with RD 'P1' pickups.

Cheers!

Went for the Zilla mini modern cab - great slightly oversized 1x12  - handles the bass end from the Bluesmaster very nicely. I've got an old EVM12L in it and use it open back.

Feel for ya! Not much fun when the back lets you down so hope that clears up soon for you.

After all this talk about RCA tubes in V1 I finally managed to score an old 12AX7a - looking forward to trying it in my Bluesmaster - I've got a nos Brimar in there at the minute - wonder would the Brimar be nicer than Tungsol in V2?

Might do some before/after clips but I can't really record at volume at home...we'll see Wink

Took a while but got it done - happy!

Sweet sounding amp & lovely playing - you liking the Timeline?
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: HRM Bluesmaster Registry and Opinions Thread on: July 21, 2012, 01:36:41 PM
It's a bluesmaster with a normal faceplate - simples Wink The HRM 'royal' faceplate just doesn't do it for everyone I guess..

As I said, if you gig an OTS with pedals in the loop then a buffer is needed - if you play it at home friendly bedroom volumes then agreed, a buffer probably isn't vital to the tone of the amp..
11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: HRM Bluesmaster Registry and Opinions Thread on: July 20, 2012, 07:43:28 AM
The Klein simply makes the effect loop work as it should at gig volume - that's what I got it for & it works!

Thanks that's useful to know - EV it is then!
13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Fane Studio 12L on: July 15, 2012, 09:09:05 PM
I'm using an EVM12L with my Bluesmaster 100 - it's coming up to its 20th birthday soon & I'd like to have a backup even though it's still going strong.

Just wondered if anyone has tried a Fane Studio 12L, and if so, how did it stack up against the EV?

Cheers

Kieran

This is how I set my Bluesmaster 100 & Klein for last gig - it's built by Nik's team - no mods done. I use it with a 1x12 open back EVM12L. I'll adjust the treble and presence controls depending on how loud I'm 'allowed' to go on the amp - it has a half power switch which I'll use at home but not for gigs. Rear OD trimmer left at 11 o'clock.

@SDuck - I'd be interested to know how you've adjusted your HRM trimmers - I still haven't touched mine. For a while there thought I'd like a bit more mids & less bass on the OD but it's growing on me gradually as I've got a better handle on the gain structure. Still loving the clean channel boosted on this baby!
