Enjoy your new amp! I'm currently using a Bluesmaster 100 with 1/2 power switch and a Kleinulator through a 1x12 EVM12L - fantastic really versatile amp and pedals work really well with the Klein Smiley

That's interesting - the Brimar is currently in a Blackstar Artisan 15H and sounds really good in it. I also have a Brimar EF86 in the Blackstar's other preamp channel and it sounds pretty good.

I might just leave the JJ in there... decisions decisions. My amp is the Bluesmaster HRM 100- you reckon the Sovtek in V3 would be a good choice for this amp?

Thanks- I will try it in there today.

Sorry if this was mentioned already elsewhere but has anyone tried a NOS Brimar in V1? Do you think this would be 'nicer' than the JJ that's in there at present?

Or would it be better used in one of the other positions?

Thanks for any advice

Enjoy your new amp compadre Smiley I'm still learning with mine- they're a very versatile amp with a LOT of tones inside.

Fascinating build thread- wish I had the know how to put one of these together. I however took the easier route and bought a HRM Bluesmaster 100 head which had been built by Niks guys. I'd like to open it up and experiment with the HRM trimmers but haven't worked up the courage yet.. A mate who built a Trainwreck clone said he'd help me with it.

Anyways good luck with the rest of your build- you're in for a real treat when you get it fired up and burned in- awesome amps Smiley

Cheers

67  Community / Classifieds / My Blackstar as part exchange for your Ceriatone OTS? on: May 16, 2009, 02:54:08 PM
I know it's a long shot but I wonder would anyone be interested in trading their Ceriatone Overtone amp with my Blackstar Artisan 15 head + cash if required?

The Blackstar amp is a two channel (not switchable) hand wired amp which can operate in push pull or single ended configuration for 15 or 5 watts output respectively. One channel uses a ECC83 pre amp valve and the other uses an EF86 with two EL84 output tubes and also an EZ81 rectifier tube. The amp will easily do Marshall 18 watt or Vox AC15 type tones and the channels can be blended for a mixture of tones also.

I bought the amp new two months ago and it's only been gigged once. I live in N. Ireland.

Thanks

Kieran
