If it's a Blackface Bassman then yes... except 6 bolts.

 The bolts are supplied.

No, it is 2.5 in.  Remember this is just the chassis height.

Those cabs are long gone.....newer, prettier versions now.  And the name of my little hobby cab building business is B Point Amplification.   Wink

Thanks Chris and I guess I should have known that 2.5 was for the amp chassis- :Smiley

I found a data sheet on the NTE452 JFET:

http://www.nteinc.com/specs/400to499/pdf/nte452.pdf

Happy reading.  Wink

You can tweak the bias of the FET with the 2.7K resistor from "Source." The original had an 8K there.

What does the fet input do differently than the regular input..I know Iknow :Smiley :Smiley :Smiley
But I have another question that might be more enjoyable...Have you or anyone thought about about transformers as in improving the tone of the Overtone or is that not something you guys think about.
My questions come from one who has no real electronic expertise so cut me some slack okay!! Grin Smiley

Ha ha....I feel the love.. Grin Grin Grin

Really excellent job Chris
Do have dimensions and is the chassis already drilled for mounting? are they the same as you posted on the other topic, Speakers and Cabs?

I am going to build with wood I think, still designing in my head. I am trying to figure out how to show the glow of the tubes, with a reflective surface inside the cab and some plexiglass maybe, don't know yet.
thx

80  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Look for a video review when I get mine. on: March 04, 2008, 09:12:07 PM
I'm doing product reviews for various amp, guitar and effect companies and I'll be doing a review of the overtone when I get mine in a couple months.

My reviews are currently at www.youtube.com/sheetsofsound but they are moving to www.youtube.com/jazdemos

I have your book, and looking forward to hearing what you have to say.
Now I need to study a lot Grin

I have a reissue 15 ohm celestion g12 65 I am going to sell unless it sounds good with the Overtone when I get it.
I have a question I am using a Lansing Altec 417 8c with a 5 watt amp octal amp made by Stephenson Amps and it sounds great, has anyone tried one of these. I got it on ebay awhile back and wasn't sure I was going to like it, but so far so good. I think I like it better than the Scumback I have.

And Marin, I am so glad I heard that clip. I love my strat and am not particularly enamored of humbuckers and I thought your tele sounded just fine, you were using single coils, I couldn't see all of the guitar.
Nice playing-look out Robben Smiley

83  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone cleans on: March 04, 2008, 06:37:16 PM
I used 3 different settings to show that there are many possibilities. There is plenty of bottom, you just have to set it that way.

M.

Hey and thanks for posting the clean clip...but I need to ask:  How are the tone controls set?  It seems to have no bottom end at all?  Are the clips pretty true to how it sounds?  Your distorted tones on your video clip are great, but the clean clip worries me a little.

Marin,
Got any more clean tones to listen to, just curious, like to hear all the possibilities, like a tad fatter, and more bottom Grin

We all be waiting.... Tongue, is it there yet Grin
85  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Cabinet Plans? Dimensions? on: March 04, 2008, 06:12:45 PM
Another noob question, how does the chassis mount in the cab, it is like a bassman, and if so do you buy the long bolts or does Nik supply those.
19.25X8X2.5? that last measurement should be? 12.5?
Nice job too Chris
86  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: any pre tubes recipe other than Tung Sols? on: March 04, 2008, 05:46:04 PM
Sure. 330K snubbers on V2 "dumb" the OD down a bit.....  Also, a 220k in place of the 150k resistor in the OD entrance (before the trimmer) works.  If you keep your master down you could clip out the 15pf master cap.  These are just a few of the many ways to tame the edge.

Chris-Keep the master down-do you mean keeping gain up and master down? and what happens if you keep the master higher what effect is there.
Have you done this to your rig? couldn't you just use a cooler tube in V2. I am not a tech, but I know how to solder-uh oh-will probably need a little guidance when and if I decide to tweak anything.
87  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone Layout on: March 04, 2008, 05:36:32 PM
I learn slowly, Interested in how you guys tweak it too, but only the good tweaks Smiley
Thx

88  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone Soundclips on: March 04, 2008, 05:33:12 PM
thats a REAL Dumble. Cool

Thats a great LP and Larry is at his best.

Actually, the Overtone does come closer to the Larry tone than it does to the Robben tone.

M.

Marin,
Your such a fine player Smiley, I thought you would appreciate  that, and I also wanted to ask what tubes you are using, I am thinking of some EL34's, and what are you using  for preamp tubes, v1, v2, v3, am I saying that right? Huh?
JeffreyB-how is it going with your tone thing  Grin

Larry Carlton-is this Dumble?- Grin

It's the 100k trim pot at the input of V2.

V2 is the center tube-correct Grin Undecided
And thanks Chris.
