Still waiting to hear when it will ship! Got the choke already and the OT & PT are in transit. So Nik if your reading this, Hurry up and ship Thanks for posting those settings! I am a fan of JB! I had never even heard of a dumble until I read his dual amp tone recipe on the JB forum, and his tone has inspired me to get the Jube as well! If I had all the gear he had I still wouldnt sound like him though. The only amp I could see myself needing after this is maybe a Yeti or Chupacabra so I can get the metal tone. I am hoping Nik makes them as kits in the future. He said maybe! Todd

Hello all Been a little boring around here on the british side of the forum, so I went ahead and ordered a 2550 kit #1 from Nik and will try and document this build as best as I can since there is not alot of posts on this amp!
So far I have the 2550 pack#1 kit hopefully shipping this week. Ordered OT and PT from Magnetic components
PT = Plexi45/50 watt part# 40-18054
OT = Jcm 800/Jmp50 part# 40-18025
Choke = 10henry choke from Mercury Magnetics.
I have not purchased tubes yet and would like to hear any recommendations from current 2550/2555/2203/2204 owners if they are out there.
Will start posting pics and stuff once all parts arrive!

If you can take pics of amp guts and post I could maybe help you. Good thing is something is working, so most likely it will be something simple I hope. Have you tried swapping tubes around? v1 = clean ( v1 is the furthest from the power tubes or first preamp tube ) v2 = od maybe swap the 2 and see if anything changes That would be the 1st thing Id try.
If it isnt tubes, post the pics and someone here should be able to point you in right direction.

I will let you know in about a week hopefully. I remember when I first fired up the ET-65 it was pretty harsh sounding. I read reviews where people put speakers in play for a little while then judge the tone. When I got the speaker I played a rhytm loop on my GT-10, set the volume very high ( I live on a few acres so can get as loud as my ears can handle ), then went out for the day with my wife. Came home a few hours later and could already hear much smoother tone coming from speaker. This helped break in the tubes, amp and speakers and I didnt even have to be there.
I will give an assessment once the V30 has a few hours play time on it.

The veteran 30 is going in the 2x12 from tenguitars with an ET-65. I know its not completely recommended, we'll see. I find the ET-65 to be really good by itself, a little dark though. Those acoustics should keep your fingers movin while your waiting for speakers Todd

Hey I played with my PI yesterday, I also adjusted the phase inverter. I decided to just play with it until it sounded good to me. I ended up at about 1:00 exactly just like Soundperf, or 11:00 from the front. I used only the clean channel and rubbed palm on strings as suggested to listen for harmonics and around the 1:00 mark is where I heard the most. Very subtle change though. I am surprised I ended in the same spot as Soundperf though because the setting should depend on the tube in V3. Anyways guys thank you for taking most of the guess work out of this for me. Todd

Yeah oh well all I got was this silly amp, it fits me perfect though I just thought some would think its funny that after spending close to $1000 on an amp the only problem I have is not getting a shirt. I like to keep things on the funny side, life is serious enough. OK I will not say anything about the shirt again. Shirt, shirt,shirt, shirt, shit,shirt................................................................... I promise

REALLY Am I the only one who didnt get a shirt? Congrats on the amp, I went with the FM50 as well and love it. Assume yours is the modern eagle mod as well? I've only tried the kleinulator so far and plan on building c-lator, it definately makes the amp more user friendly. Todd
