Hi, Red House Blues with OTS http://www.drika.biz/redhouse.mp3Strat neck pickup - OTS clean+boost. at 1.23 min.+ wah, at 2,13 bridge humbucker and OD channel, at 2,45 OD+gain boost, at 3,48 neck pickup. City Blues instrumental http://www.drika.biz/cityblue.mp3start - unison with sax, bridge humbucker+ OD, at 2,24 gain boost. Vertical 2X12 with G12 Century speakers, built in microphone. Enjoy That was very sweet. The beginning of Red House is what I am going for that tone is awesome. Right now my amp seems to like my bartolini single coil in the neck position on this cheap Dean guitar that sounds just great rather than the humbuckers I have in my other guitar, I just have to learn how to tweek it and I can't read schematics well enough yet yet to understand where everything is but I'm getting there. Anyhow really nice playing my friend Burnie

Email Nik, explain what you want to do and I'm sure he'll let you have the source file dating from Feb, if you promise not to distribute it, only images exported from it.
I have the layout with J Zuckers mods in PDF file and that particular file lets me edit so I will use it. I am such a noob at this stuff it will take some time but I sure would like some feedback when I get it done. Thanks Hywelg. Burnie

I am using JJ EL34L's and like them, I am still working on dialing mine in but I prefer them. The tone I am working towards in my head on the OD side would be a bit nastier then RF tone and my lack of expertise in electronics's and my crummy guitar playing add a bit of time to the learning curve but I have always preferred the 34's. I love this amp. Burnie Hywelg, I shouldn't admit this but I was all turned around by the OD, PAB switch as you were..

I haven't posted much as my amp was being worked on, I thought it was broken but ended up being a bad tube in the power section. While it was there he said he could mod it a bit and I want to document those changes and put them up on the site to see what people have to say about them. I need a PDF of the layout as of say last February so I can edit it with the changes. Does anyone happen to have anything like that, or know where I can get one. I am not so good with schematics or I would draw it out, so the layout is the only way I can do it. Thanks to all, glad to be back Burnie

So is the current layout incorrect? I'd like to know before i get to that stage.
Thanks
Hywel Harris
Correct is a relative term... ...if you are after #124 than it's wrong, if you're after D'Lite style amp or many other D style amps I've seen than it's OK, except lose that resistor and cap, it's not needed. the rest of the layout is fine What happens when you take that resister and cap out of the loop. I am like you mcinku, I had some electronics training but I have to start over, it's all good though, I enjoy everything about music including this.

I must say that IC-Racers Manual is allready very informative. Apart from some details there's not much more one can ask for. (apart from the really complicated amp builders/tweakers stuff maybe)
That's what I thought-how do we make it a sticky? that can be added to if need be. And ic-racer much appreciation. I am considering building a 50 watt #124 but need more education and you have helped immensely.

This is a good initiative. Will you realy do it?
I view it as a collaborative effort-I know little and guys like ic-racer have been kind enough to put up great info. What about making it a sticky at the top of the forum when everyone agrees that it is complete?

mcinku What exactly does that jumper wire do. I am trying to learn all I can but I really feel ignorant sometimes. The other thing is how much change is there from #124, which is 100 watts. And how do I optimize this amp to run el34's..man I have a long way to go in understanding all of this. How is it going for you. Burnie

Website, Store / General / Re: Head shells......

Hope someone reads this. I am thinking of making my own head shell. It would be a metal skeleton kind of shell. I wanted to put lexan over the bottom which faces up but am not sure that would work because of shielding for RF. Any thoughts? I just like the idea of being able to see the circuitry.

Chris, Thanks for the reply. I don't feel comfortable doing this right now and it is covered under warranty. What I will do though is get with the tech who is going to fix it and find out what is wrong and when I get it back follow the circuit the way he did, if that makes sense. I really need to learn more before I stick probes in this puppy. But I did look it over real good last night and saw no bad solder joints.
