Just arrived today. Can't wait to get home and try it. It's the older style with the switched effect loop and dual 500k master. I plan on switching it to the newer style interrupt loop and larmar master. Clips coming soon.

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Tweaked Layout

It sounds great at all volume levels. I have no problem getting a gorgeous jazz or gorgeous robben tone even at very low volumes. I also use a sadowsky semi and it gets a gorgeous jazz tone. I have some clips of that combo up on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/sheetsofsound. I believe Nik's now using the updated tweaked layout as his standard. Newbie question to Jack: Will your mod make a big difference if the OTS is used at low volumes ? I will be using the amp with a Sadowsky Semi-Hollow - both are yet to arrive - but just to be prepared.... And if this is an improvement, will Nik of Ceriatone possibly do the tweaks ?...the amp is due on delivery within 8 weeks from now - so there is some time left. P.S.: Guess who made me order the OTS Thanks for the demos on YouTube. I wish you a nice day from Switzerland. Mike

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 1/2 power switch

So would a 100w Overtone running on 50W via the 50W switch, sound/perform the same as a pure 50W Overtone? If you switch off 2 power tubes, your impedance doubles so you'll have to switch the output impedance to be half of what the switch says.

Jack,
what resistance is your Overdrive trimmer set to? I love your P90 clip!
Not sure. The adjustment is up almost 1/2 way but i'm not sure if the pot is linear or not.

Tworock uses Emi RW&B speakers. I previously had a love affair with these speakers but lately we've had a falling out. I now consider them too dark. Which Two Rock speaker is the RW&B, they have 2 different ones offered, one being slightly brighter than the other. I think I like the idea of mixing 2 different speakers to get the tone I want - Would a RW&B and a Wizard be a good mix? That's news to me. Where is that info listed? Just checked the EMI site. There are not 2 versions offered.

Two Rock use OEM eminence speakers in their cabs, if you can find out which aftermarket unit is the equivalent, I'd be very interested too.
Tworock uses Emi RW&B speakers. I previously had a love affair with these speakers but lately we've had a falling out. I now consider them too dark. I have ordered a G1265 to try again. I am going to do some comparison clips between the two speakers and post the results. I'm hoping the ones I had before were counterfeit. In the meantime, the wizards I have in another cabinet sound very good though they have the opposite problem. They are a little too bright.

Can the Overtone get those big, warm cleans that John Mayer uses to great effect on Continuum?
It sure can if you do the mods I've posted. Listen to my youtube clips.

What do these mods do? Tonewise?
I have an overtone and interested in what the mod does for it
They make the cleans sweeter and less peaky and make the leads smoother and less raspy. Note that my clips are recorded with the treble and presence at 10 O'Clock. If you want to get the original more raspy tone you can turn the tone and presence up to 12 O'Clock but you can't get the smoother sound with the old circuit. The cleans on my amp are now world class. John Mayeresque!

The 1k to 470 ohm screen resistor swap usually makes an amp harsher sounding and accents the higher frequencies.
Are you sure about that?
