D style amps  have plenty of chord definition. I think people go by the myth that midrangy amps arent good for chords. I find that if i use more mids the chords sound even better and have more clarity as long as the bass isnt too over the top.

I'm sure it depends much on the guitar as much as the amp.

I have recently completed a Overtone HRM and (with a strat) can get some great clean and not so clean stuff out of it. But I'm also sure that the other guys on here are right also - think about it - crap speakers - crap sound - that's a very old fact which many plug and play guitarists forget about..  they're just speakers... right?

I have found the Overtone HRM to be a very flexible amp, but it does not like my pedals too much. So I don't use them.

Then things get good!

the clean channel of mine loves my pedals, an Xotic BB and Rc and a Menatone Red Snapper. Have to be careful with the OD channel though, usually only the the RC OR the Red Snapper.

Well I made my mind up and I will be ordering one.

Thanks all.

Hi Hywelg. How do you use the RC? is it any good with the OTS?

I have a Wampler Extacy use it for more extreme distortion. I have been fiddling with my setup a bit so can't give you an up to date review on it. Good quality stuff though and the Extacy is pretty versitile.

Xotic RC is just for a clean volume boost. Different to PAB which changes your tone and give a bit more drive, the RC will drive V1 harder depending where you have the clean volume set.

I put up a pdf drawing for a head cab a while ago, just search through my posts. You can easily adapt it for a 1x12 combo by lengthening the sides.
