Hi folks complete newb to the forum.
I would very much like to purchase an overtone.
However after reading about mods I pick up that this is not a
chord friendly amp.

Is this accurate or am I missunderstanding.

The answer to that question may be the deciding factor
as to purchase or not purchase.

I love the tone but i need me chords with some hair attached.

Thanks all in advance.

For more string definition and therefore more cord friendly amp, you need to go with Bluesmaster HRM.

Trust me on that one.

...just for the record, the difference between those two amps was not captured quite right in that recording. You need to stand in front of the amps... with master volume on 5... only than you can hear the real character of these amps. IMO

Thanks mcinku  - I've listened to your sound clips and must admit that I prefer the sound of the OTS over the BM. The BM sounds very dark in comparison.

Yes it does... since than I replaced the speaker... from G12-65 to Gold and it's much better. Well on that youtube, I'm using both actually 1265 and Gold.
I also prefer to use SC guitar with my BM. This amp can make a SC guitar sound huge.  Shocked
I also plan on modding the amp slightly... I will try to increase the value of the slope resistor a bit. The plan is to make this amp friendlier to HB guitar as well.
All this does not change the fact that this amp has way better string definition and also... this amp has become my no1 amp, but that's just my preference of course.
Like I said, you need to hear this amp in person, side by side.
