Mcinku my man thanks,
They are very preserved listeners. Sad Sad Sad
As Frank Zappa mentioned once – as far as they pay my dues they are alive and appreciation is a bonus.
I’d love to come and play in your lovely country. Hopefully I will one day.
Best wishes my friend.

Erwin thanks mate, This amp is S&M and incoming one is an OTS. I wonder how it will take the tweaks.

Huh? I was in the presumption you modded your amp more towards a bluesmaster.
Lower slope resistor etc.
That’s right, on V1 - 56k on slope with a switch goes to 150k and also another switch changes a 220k plate resistor to 150k. Lots of combinations.
My favourite is 220k plate and 56k slope.
I’m crazy perfectionist, I tweak all the time.

sorry for my ignorance pickmaster, is the slop resistor you refer to  replacing the 47k one to the grid?

Hi Mr. fab

No, it is on V1 first anod.
In S&M, OTS and HRM resistor is 150k, sits behind 0,1mf cap.
On BM it's 47k.
On my 50w I have 56k and on 100w OTS I have 68k.

Cheers

so this resistor moves the centre of the trebles and bass frequency response to higher values?

Very slightly.
But most importantly (for my taste) it adds roundness and chirpy, liquid compression to the tone, more sustain and overall bigger feel.
After long experiments I really prefer 68k 2w metal film resistor.

Cheers

OTS 50-Watt (Volume and Master on 2) on Lead Channel with K-lator, Reverb and Delay in loop.  Strat straight into amp with EA cable. Excuse 1-take noodling sloppiness and silly mix:

I've always used the clean channel with a couple of stacked OD pedals up front, but lately been loving just using Lead Channel and using volume control on guitar to clean up as required - so transparent and uncolored tone.

I have to say I'm fairly critical but man, that really sounded great. I thought at one point that I was listening to the real Jeff Beck. Great tone and chops. You don't have a Les Paul as well? Think that would sound just perfect. Keep up the good work and don't mind to share some more!

Thanks, Wow.  No, that recording was done on a Strat, actually on a stock Jeff Beck Strat.  I have a Les Paul, 335 and other style guitars in my arsenal, but favor the battles of playing a Strat - harder to play IMO, but more rewarding.  As I mentioned,  OTS sounds in my case much better on lead channel then clean channel with effects up front, maybe because there's no coloring or tone loss from pedals and excess cable, etc and I use only my fingers- no pick.

Some sound clips :

http://s245.photobucket.com/albums/gg79/axiology_2008/?action=view&current=CeriatoneOTS50.flv

2002 Les Paul Standard, Burstbucker pickups straight into amp with Strymon BlueSky Reverb in FX loop,  recorded into Cakewalk SONAR DAW using SM57 Mic. Small(2-3db) amount of compression added. I have the internal overdrive pot set quite low 9- 10 o'clock. Amp tubes - Power - TAD 6L6, V1 is Tung Sol, V2 and V3 JJ's. Celestion Gold speaker.

6 short clips strung together into 1:
1. Clean Country/Folk/Rock
2. Clean Jazzy
3. Rockabilly? - Overdrive at 2
4. Overdrive at half way
5. Overdrive cranked
6. Stormy Monday - Overdrive at 2

Seems I can't resist wiggling that Bigsby at the end of almost every clip Cheesy

Absolutely wonderful... that's my type of sound. Great looker of a guitar there. Love the Bigsby! Many thanks for the clip, I really enjoyed it. You never thought of putting some EL34's in the amp to tighten up the low end?

Can't wait till I got my OTS 50 and plug in my trusty 1993 Les Paul Standard Smiley

Thanks, just noodling. Forgot how nice is not to have pedals in front and hear true guitar and amp tone.
