46  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 1/2 power mod on a 50watt OTS ? on: December 09, 2008, 07:01:25 PM

I had Nik do that mod to my 50 watt ODS,  it cuts alot of the tone out.   have you thought about putting a speaker in a box with a mic?   I've seen things like that adverised but never have used one

Yeah - thought about that but I really don't like the sound of my guitar in a monitor....really ruins my mood to play.... maybe I should just accept it and start looking for an In Ear system as well  and then put the speaker in a closed flight and mike it in there....

In my case it's our singer who complains I'm too loud... Only two decades ago people played with 100 watt Marshll stacks. :Smiley
I've ordered mine with a Pentode/triode switch. I suppose that will affect tone but I don't know to what extent. I'm still waiting for the amp -- it's on its way and should be here any day now!

Make the singer go out and buy himself an In Ear system !!!! :-)
It's a "she" -- nuff said. Grin

HA !!!!! Good one ! :-)

One will definetely be better off with a 2x12 if volume is a problem.

JohnE  - What kind of material do you use for the baffle ? Do you stille hear the amp on stage or do you have your guitar in the monitors ?

I REALLY don't like my guitar in the monitors...... Gets too spikey and strange   Smiley
50  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: a little info on the Klein-ulator needed here..... on: December 08, 2008, 07:47:50 PM
I used a piece of plywood with velcro it seems to work well.   I also have my pedals on the board too.
It seems to fix the issue.

Wow - could you post a picture of it ?
51  Ceriatone / Overtone / 1/2 power mod on a 50watt OTS ? on: December 08, 2008, 07:04:56 PM
Hi again,

is it possible to make a 1/2 power mod to my OTS 50 watt ?
I sometimes play small venues and the bands sound engineer is VERY scared of guitar volume......  Huh?

52  Ceriatone / Overtone / a little info on the Klein-ulator needed here..... on: December 08, 2008, 05:22:40 PM
 Hi all,

I'm seriously thinking about buying a Klein-ulator for my OTS - BUT....... is it to big to be fitted inside the cab for the head ?
I really don't want a box that I have to bringe in my board and then mount it on top of my amp and plug cables in and out...... actually I think that our back line tech will just laugh at me if i show him such a set up.
So I am thinking that maybe i could mount it inside the cab with velcro or something like that - the all I have to figure out is a 9V psu - maybe that could be in there aswell ?!??   Wink Wink Wink
Any ideas ? Anyone tried it ?
53  Ceriatone / Overtone / Best speakers for OTS ? on: December 07, 2008, 11:05:20 AM
Hi all,

I am just getting to know my OTS - And I need to do a few mods - and then I'm sure it will be VERY, VERY nice indeed ! Grin

Mean while I'm building my own 2x12" closed back cab. I'm almost done now but started to read about speakers this morning.
So far I have used Celestion G12h30s in all my cabs for the last couple of years, but iI just fell upon a good deal for an Eminence Wizard and Governor speaker.
I've read about them on Harmony Central and the general opinion is that they are great.

Do you guys share that opinion or have another suggestion ?

Well, that’s pre moded amp S&M layout http://www.ceriatone.com/images/layoutPic/OvertoneLayout/Overtone-S&M-Special.jpg.
First mod (layout) was done in October 2008.
So all my mods will apply.
You can also use 31 October 2008 mod layout to modify your amp further.

57  Ceriatone / Overtone / New OTS owner and I need a little help... on: December 05, 2008, 06:21:57 PM
Hi all,

I just bought a very little used OTS. I think it has only been played for a couple of hours. The thing is like brand new and o far I´m VERY happy with it.
The clean sounds are AMAZING - but  I need some help to do a few mods to the OD channel.

I think that the OD is a little harsh-sounding and it needs some more low end. To my ears it looses some of its beautifull lows when i switch to the OD channel - can this be fixed ?

One more thing....... Is it possible to turn the "deep" switch on when switch from clean to OD ?
