1  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: EVM12L + another speaker on: January 21, 2011, 01:02:26 AM
I don't have really have diverse speaker experience, but felt no need to look further, I got out of the gate with EVM12L in a 1x12 and used in conjunction with a Two Rock Sig 1x12 cab loaded with 12-65R....both 8 ohms and ampo set at 4 ohms - I love my tone.

P.S. I have a 50-Watt OTS.

What's the scoop on long cable runs from effects loop (K-lator) all the way to pedal board to have stomp ability on delay, reverb, etc?  I always here peoeple say a great loss of tone - anybody share your experiences please?
3  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: How do you use your OTS? on: October 20, 2010, 11:31:24 PM
Separate head and cab loaded with Celestion Gold speaker. I run my guitars straight into the amp with a Strymon Blue Sky reverb in the effects loop, no K-lator or D-lator required. Highly recommend Strymon FX, these units do not screw up the sound of the amp. No OD/distortion pedal can equal the built in overdrive of the OTS, IMO.

Do you use your OTS on lead channel only and roll off volume on guitar to clean up?  I find it a little tough to use both channels while not having a too large of a volume jump when I go to lead/od channel.  Let me know please - thanks.

I currently don't gig, at home player, so my settings are:

Volume and Master on about 2-3.  Kleinulator, Dr Scientist Reverb and Trex Replica in loop and then I use a Klon as a clean boost (really helps opens up amp at lower volume), Dumkudo and SOV-2 OD pedals for OD, so I don't use the lead channel currently which is wonderful.

Anyone else using in their home and if so, what's your low volume settings, etc.
5  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Which OTS for me? on: October 20, 2010, 07:07:36 PM
He's not updated website, I sat maybe 5 feet from him and amp face said Classic Reverb and he confirmed with over a cig in between sets that Bill modded a Classic Reverb single channel head to be closer to a vintage Fener Super Reverb of "sorts".  Yeah, he was using same cab you mentioned and had killer tone.  Because amp is single channel clean only, he used Klon and SOV-2 for his OD tone, much the night the Klon was always on, using as a clean boost and then kicked the SOV-2 on for lead tone.  Klon OD was set about 8am and SOV-2 at about 11am.

Yes, Matt was clearly using a new proto amp closely based off the TR Classic Reverb single channel with a Klon and SOV-2 up front providing overdrive.  He seemd real excited about amp and word is TR might be launching this proto amp and or maybe call it a sig Matt Schofield model...stay tuned!

I have a 50-watt OTS going into two 1x12 cabs; one with EVM12l and other is TR Sig Cab with their TR12-65R speaker and I love my tone with a Klon, SOV-2, etc up front, actually rarely use the great OD channel, as I'm playing at lower voumes mostly.  I don't know if I get Matt's tone, some of this is in the fingers, but in his tonal territory for certain if I want.  I use a Kleinulator with reverb and delay in loop with high quality 2' cables that work for me.

Thanks guys, for feedback, when time to chenge tubes, will look into, I'm not a tweaker, just funny that the bass only booms on low "E" string only......my poor neighbors must think I have a bass player in my house.

Never thought I would complain with a Strat being too bassy..lol.

Really appreciate your help always!!

Thanks, but what are considered the best tubes to use in a OTS 50-watt to maximize the clean channel, if that is a better question?

Also, I get a booming (rattle the walls - like a bass player) bass when I only hit the low E string, is this a tube issue??

Thanks.

What are you using for speakers?

I run my OTS 50-watt through two (2) 1x12 cabs.  One is a Two Rock Sig Cab with 1265B and other cab is loaded with a EVM12L.  I use a Kleinulator in loop.

Thanks for your help!!

Thanks Pickmaster: Wondering what tonal differnences I might hear using a Fuchs Verbrator vs Klein minus reverb of course?
11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: OTS Tone with Kleinulator and Without Kleinulator on: August 16, 2010, 07:36:35 PM
Thanks for all the great feedback.  Anyone try the Fuchs D-lator with built in Reverb???
12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: OTS Tone with Kleinulator and Without Kleinulator on: August 13, 2010, 10:57:43 PM
Nairbr:  Thanks, what is a C-lator?  I've been thinking about trying a Fuch's d-lator with built in reverb as a bonus.

I have  OTS 50-Watt, what are the best tubes to get me closer to a TR Classic Reverb clean tone?
15  Ceriatone / Overtone / OTS Tone with Kleinulator and Without Kleinulator on: August 11, 2010, 07:33:54 PM
What tone differences have you all found with using or not using a Kleinulator in loop on a OTS 50-watt.  I appreciate your tonal feedback via cleans and OD channel differences with and without.

Thanks!!
