4  Community / Gear / Re: Danelectro Hodad on: December 17, 2013, 07:54:43 PM
I rarely come to this side of the forum but when I did I saw that post of the Hodad.  I have the same one and love it.  Great guitar! The only thing I don't like is how one adjusts the bridge, pain in the ass and the truss rod is not easily accessible to say the least as one has to take the neck off to reach it OY!

That being said I will say it again that is a great guitar.  Plays nice, sounds nice and looks friggin killer.  Cheers.

Got it sounding sweet now even at cranked volumes thank you so much. Don't know if I will mod it as I don't know if I want to put the time in to do so.

Thank you very much for the info brother appreciated.  I like the idea.

Thank you. I have the RP200 and I know you don't use a Klein with it. Looking forward to your info. Cheers.

Well I bought one on Ebay in mint condition. At low volumes one can get gorgeous tone. That being said start to turn volume up to gig levels on amp and the sound degrades.  Dr. Iko must be absent as no reply from him. This neck of the forum seems to have sloooowed down though. This forum used to be jumpin.

Any who Doc swears by this thing. Me I was swearing at it tonight.  My tones prior were superb but got the bug to try the RP. Bored... I was using Klein and intelifex for the majority of my fx system the last few years with no complaint and tone abounds at all volume levels.

Won't give up yet. Only have had it for two days.

9  Ceriatone / Overtone / Pickmaster Modded Digitech RP200? on: November 11, 2013, 04:10:17 PM
I have read that Dr. Iko uses a modified Digitech RP200 in place of C K D lators and for effects.

What about that pedal is modified?  I have searched hi and low both here and on google for any info leading to a modified RP200, RP100 and none to be found.

That being said what is modified on this pedal?

Thank you.

Still playing my OTS since 2010 awesome amp.

10  Ceriatone / Overtone / A review after one day of playing with new tubes courtesy of Nik - Read Hot Tube on: February 05, 2010, 04:03:07 AM
This sums it up in an E-mail I sent Nik today after receiving my new tubes.
This is the first day I was able to play the amp.
Bedroom levels? "Oh yea"
Does it crank? "Oh yea"
Can she scream? "most definitely."
Does she moan when you stroke her.  "mmmm Hmm. . . "

Nice. . . . . . . . .  Grin

email starts here:
Nik what can I say. . .

Thank you so much!!

The tubes arrived today from Bob.
I put the tubes in today got them biased and I have been playing this amp since 3pm here. Ate dinner.
Rested about an hour and picked it back up.  By the way those tubes are matched so close that they are almost twins.

It sounds absolutely beautiful. The overdrive just blooms.  The harmonics are rich and I am floored.

WOW!!

Thank you.

Warmest regards,

                                Jonathan C Hall

That's it kids.  The amp is all it is purported to be and Nik is one hell of a nice feller.  A big thanks to him and his crew.
11  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Resolved - Hot Tube - Thank you NIk!! on: February 05, 2010, 03:55:31 AM

12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Hot Tube on: February 01, 2010, 04:02:08 PM
Thanks fenderman I thought it must be the tube itself.  I don't know if Nick will replace it but would be nice.  Smiley

I told him I would send him an image of it if he likes to show how the plate itself is glowing to confirm my issue.

Anyway we will see what he says.  I appreciate it.

13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Resolved - Hot Tube - Thank you NIk!! on: February 01, 2010, 03:34:14 PM
Hi guys I emailed Nik about it and am awaiting reply however I thought I would put the question forth here.

I received my amp completed by Ceriatone. a few days ago it sounds great.  I got the tubes with amp. JJs

One of the 6L6s is running hot as blue blazes.  (I trade sockets and the same tube hotter n hell.)

The plate inside glows bright orange almost red.  The Red JJ logo on outside is no longer red but a brownish red due to heat.

No issues with other tube in either socket normal glow inside. Just the one. To reiterate the hot tube is hot in either socket.

Never saw this with any of my tube amps over the years.

Anyone have any ideas. I am assuming it is not the bias as I figure they adjust that before shipped for tubes shipped.

Using Klein with Rocktron Intellifex.

I am afraid to run it as I don't want to damage the amp.

Thanks for any help in the matter.  I am sure Nik will take care of this as I have only heard good things about him.  The amp does sound nice I must say very pleased just that dern tube.

14  Ceriatone / Overtone / Latest Overtone Specials offered by Nik - (Mods/Changes incorporated?) on: January 08, 2010, 02:08:20 AM
I am aware that Nik appropriated some of the changes folks like Zucker have made and incorporated into the amplifier OTS.  I am curious if any are incorporated in the latest OTS?

If so which are they and which did he not incorporate.

Nik wrote me and told me that the current OTS is more similar to the Dumble "more original circuit" than the others.

That being said I know they have changed a bit since he started putting them together.  What I am trying to do is nail down exactly what I am getting so that I don't waste time trying to change something that need not be changed.  In other words don't want to chase me tail.

Thanks for any and all info in advance.

Regards,

15  Ceriatone / Overtone / Shipping in a few days!!! on: January 07, 2010, 10:23:26 PM
I can't wait to receive the amp.  I am nervous about getting it.  I want it to be all that I have heard it to be both in sound clips and all the posts on this forum.

Will be burning in as suggested once it arrives.  I have decided that I will be making cabinet to house it myself.
I will be modeling the cabinet in the style of the Ark amplifiers.  I just think they look cool and stand on there own as a piece of art.  Will be building a matching speaker cabinet as well.

Looking forward to plugging her in and letting her rip!

Cheers,
