1  Community / Classifieds / HAMER ARTIST KORINA FOR SALE on: October 06, 2009, 10:05:39 PM
2000 Hamer Korina Vanguard (now Artist Korina) P90's with original hard case. £800

For sale is my Hamer Korina Vanguard (now known as the Artist Korina) in excellent condition, including original Hamer hardcase. This is a genuine Hamer USA guitar not the cheaper Korean XT series.   This guitar retails for around £1815.  See link below:

http://www.molemusic.co.uk/products.html

Korina is probably the most beautiful tonewood in the world and the guitar is simply stunning and very unique. The Korina wood or African Limba was made famous in the original Gibson Flying V and as such, it has become the most collectable wood type for this guitar.  Also Gibson Korina Specials are highly sought after because of the Korina tonewood.

The wood imparts a warm organic sound, a little brighter and more resonant than mahogany but it is much lighter in weight than mahogany.  This is a very light guitar and very comfortable to play. The Duncan P90's can give you a wide array of sounds covering Rock, Blues, Old School and to Funk, Pop and Jazz.  A friend could not believe how versatile the guitar was and was playing SRV at one point very convincingly.

Hamer quality is world renown and many people on the forums say that when you have tried a Hamer you never go back. It is a much better quality guitar than Gibson, similar to PRS and the like and many claim they have never picked up a Hamer they didn't like.  It is not hard to understand why the the Guitar Player Magazine gave the Artist Korina the coveted Editor's Pick Award.

See article http://www.edroman.com/guitars/hamer/Hamer%20Models/models.htm

When it was launched it was called the Vanguard and the name quickly changed to the Artist Korina. See below reviews from Harmony Central for both guitars to give you a flavour of what people think of them.

Here is a clip of one at breakup on a Marshall 18W clone. With the volume down you can get almost an acoustic sound from the pickups. In fact you can get stratocaster sounds from it...I am not kidding..

The guitar has been hardly played (very little fret wear) and is in excellent condition with only very light surface scratches and a very small dent on the fingerboard just below the 2nd fret as seen in the pictures. You would hardly notice it but I mention it for completeness. The case is the original Hamer case but it is 9 years old and has a few small nicks here and there but it is solid and secure.

The guitar is very resonant and sounds fantastic acoustically without even plugging it in. This is always the sign of a great guitar. It is solidly built and the feel is fantastic, you will not be dissapointed.

The pickups sound fantastic clean, very rich and warm with lots of harmonics and have a sort of airyness to the sound. The middle pickup setting is gorgeous. P90's are very versatile pickups as when you turn the volume down you get more single coil and sweeter sound.  Just turn the pickups up for raunch.

More details can be obtained from the Hamer site below:

I am selling as I play a Les Paul and acoustic most of the time and I am saving up for a new acoustic guitar.

2  Community / Classifieds / Ceriatone Overtone Special + 1 x 12 Cab + Klein on: April 12, 2009, 04:55:26 PM
For sale is a Ceriatone Overtone Special amplifier complete with 1 x 12" large Speaker cab professionally made from 18mm dovetailed Birch Ply the very best wood for amplifier and speaker cabinets.  All bracing is made from Poplar. The head and speaker cab are both covered in matching Fender Blonde tolex and black speaker grill cloth and houses the Celestion Gold the best guitar speaker on the planet. This speaker is unrivalled giving the most prestine cleans and smoothest overdrive you will ever hear.

If that wasn't enough the amp also includes the Kleinulator (Dumbleator Alternative) giving a buffered effects loop which is required by all Dumble styled amps to match impedances for using reverb and delay in the effects loop.  It also can be used as a gain boost with extra brightness if required.  Awesome bit of kit which is transparent and really enhances the sound of this marvellous amp.

This amp is simply stunning, very unique and will grace any home or stage.  The condition of the amp is showroom condition - still looks new!

I am after £1000 for the whole lot which is an absolute bargain see bottom of Advert for costs.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ceriatone-Overtone-Special-Amp-Speaker-Cab-More_W0QQitemZ280333087528QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_MusicalInstr_Amplifiers_RL?hash=item280333087528&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A4%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A2%7C240%3A1318

I am in the UK in Swindon, Wiltshire for anyone who is interested in this. Be quick it will not be around for long.

The speaker cab is based on the larger 1x 12" similar to the Glaswerks cab which gives the amp a much larger feel,  more infact like a 2 x 12" as very similar in size and therefore does not sound boxy at all. It has the famous Dumble Oval back porting style and having the amp in head and cab makes it very easy to carry around and the combination of the marvellous amp, larger speaker cab and the addition of the Celestion Gold make this one awesome sound stage which would melt the heart of any professional or serious guitarist alike.

The chassis has been expertly built by Ceriatone  to the very same specification as Dumble using the very same special Sprague PS caps and RN65 Military Resisters. The Amp comes with Tungsol 12AX7 preamp valves and TAD 6L6WGC power valves  .

What are you getting?

1 Off Ceriatone Overtone Special plus foot pedal with Tungsol 12AX7 Tubes and TAD 6L6WGC Valves

1 Off 1 x 12" Speaker Cab with Celestion Gold Speaker 16ohm

1 Off  Kleinulator Buffered Effects Unit

The cost was Chassis $950 (£645), Tubes £70 , Delivery $141 (£95) Speaker £195, Cab and Speaker Cab £400, Kleinulator $120 (£81) = TOTAL £1486!

3  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: How can I get Hilden's es335 + dumble tone with my OTS???? on: April 08, 2009, 08:32:03 PM
Mitch,

Good point, I found that the internal OD trimmer set to 9.00 oclock helps but I get this tone no problem with my OTS.

The tubes I found helped.  I used NOS Mullard 12AX7's and TAD 6L6WGC power tubes.

I use Gold speaker which is creamy and very articulate without being edgy

These break earlier and helped me get this tone easier.
4  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Speaker in Dumble? on: April 08, 2009, 08:24:39 PM
Skydog is that you from LPF and youtube.

If you go with a Celestion Gold you have the best which I have found with the OT

I have tried EVM12L, a bit sterile, nice OD and nice cleans but I am used to Celestion Blues and Golds which are superior in both aspects(in certain applications of course)

G12-65 - nice OD, a bit flabby vs the Gold in the bass, Gold is creamier, richer, and the cleans are BF Fender only purer. I can get spanky fender tones. In fact the cleans are better than any I have heard to date from any of the forums with this amp.

5  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best speaker?` on: April 08, 2009, 08:19:33 PM
Just to add...The gold is so much warmer and creamier than my experience with the celestion blue.

Martin Lewis raves about the Golds with the Fuchs ODS.

My overtone is the most versatile amp I own as the cleans are truly BF fender only better.  Better than any of the cleans I have heard on youtube and these forums.

The OD is so silky smooth it made such an improvement over the G12-65 which I though was just OK

I will do some clips as I think people are missing out on the massive tonal improvement
of this speaker with the Overtone.
6  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best speaker?` on: April 08, 2009, 08:05:39 PM
I have used all EVM12-L, G12-65 and Celestion Gold and the winner is ...The Celestion Gold

Better cleans, much better cleans, my Overton sounds like a BF Deluxe and when I engage the OD it sounds like santana
7  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Which reverb pedal for OTS??? on: April 08, 2009, 08:03:26 PM
The T-Rex Room mate is superb with the Overtone and Kleinulator.

The T-rex adds some warmth as it has a tube and make the Kleinulator sound tuby

Fantastic......Trust me you will not be dissapointed

I have mine on the plate reverb setting and it sounds unbelievable!

It is also better in the loop than a up-front vanamps Solemate as these need to go into the input and do not work as well in the loop as other pedals
8  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: Played DC30 yesterday... on: February 03, 2009, 08:15:34 PM
The DC-30 and Overtone are Ceriatones best offerings.  They are the creme de la creme

With these two amps all bases are covered.
9  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: dc 30 transformers on: February 03, 2009, 08:14:10 PM
The ceriatone transformers are great...really.....Seriously

Do not bother with any others...

As soon as you hear her you will have all your faith restored in going with the complete kit

Just get a Dario Miniwatt EF86, cheaper than Telefunken but as good and crucial to get best sound from the second channel.
10  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: Will The DC30 Do A Decent Clean Sound? on: February 03, 2009, 08:12:12 PM
The clean is nothing short of amazing.

Matchless have not bettered this amp since they have been in existence.

It is still the benchmark in my opinion...And this ceriatone amp is probably the best clone together with the Overtone Special
11  Muchless / DC 30 / Re: Just ordered Kit 2 on: February 03, 2009, 08:10:27 PM
This is the only amp I got which sounded brilliant not even having been burned in.

It is that good..  The most underated amp in the Ceriatone range...

To me in someways it is the best.  Certainly the most versatile.  The best clean I have ever heard and the most musical amp too!

You will enjoy it very much

regards

Richard

12  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Lead dress Non HRM with filaments at back of chassis on: January 26, 2009, 11:23:36 AM
I was extremely skeptical about this-
I understand most of this skeptisism. But if you think about it; conductors and magnetic fields are worst enemies in a amp.
Glad you noticed any difference. When you get it at bandvolume the difference is even bigger.

No Erwin  you are a star for pointing this out to us all with pics as well.
I spoke to Nik about it and he is aware of it too.

This I believe is the secret ingredient as well as ensuring your cathode and anode (plate) wires are parallel .  This is the dumble special lead dress and it works.

It made such a difference with the OD trimmer set at 26K to ground (middle lug and outer lug) Right if you are looking at the black side

This is 9 oclock on some trimmers and 11 oclock on mine. My trimmer reads 85K overall.

This is important as I have unleashed tones I didn't think the amp was capable of.

I was thinking of selling it but did all the similar mods to Jack but used RN65's for both anode and cathode resisters. I now have the tone in my head.  TAD 6L6 WGC short bottles are ace by the way.

Erwin.....Your are a star....it makes alot of difference ...I am very grateful to you

Richard

Too much honour Smiley Enjoy that big fat massive tone now...
Look at Dumble pictures and Fender filament wiring. They were the smart guys.
However I hope Ceriatone is gonna change there method of filament wiring.
Floating from one tube to another is the way to go in building the d-style amp IMHO.
13  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Single G12-65 with the standard OTS amp on: January 16, 2009, 10:08:25 PM
Has anybody using a 1 12 setup with the G12-65 speaker in use, had any issues with blowing the speaker, the speaker not being able to deal with the power of the amp, etc?
I've got a big fat JBL E120-8 in now and I want to move to a smoother, darker sounding speaker.
The JBL's kinda edgy sounding.
And, sometimes I play gigs where the amp's gotta be driven harder, to keep up with loud drummers, etc.
Thanks.

I tried a 12-65 and liked it a lot. It is more sparkly than people give it credit for.. I changed to a Gold and preferred the OD more, much tighter bass.  The G12-65 sounded a tad flabby for me.  However I have modded alot so that has helped too.

The Gold has such nice cleans.

15  Community / Classifieds / Trainwreck Express For Sale in UK - Re-advertised on: December 10, 2008, 08:30:19 PM
Trainwreck Express Clone Valve Amplifier made by Ceriatone with extras

My apologies this amp was listed elsewhere and someone wasted my time so I have relisted it on ebay.  ..See below link

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ceriatone-Trainwreck-Express-Clone-Amplifier-Expression_W0QQitemZ280293463441QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_MusicalInstr_Amplifiers_RL?hash=item280293463441&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

For sale is a Trainwreck Express Clone built by Ceriatone which has been expertly put together and is an exact clone of the famous Trainwreck Express amplifier made by the late Ken Fisher. This is a true tone machine and is reputed as probably the best rock amplifier of all time. Think JCM800 on steriods. But turn your guitar knob down for the most beautiful sparkly cleans.

Pedals who needs pedals, this is a really dynamic amp that you can feel through to your fingers, which brings outs all of your playing nuances and most people simply play with just a guitar, amp and cord. It really is that good!

Although the amp sounds fantastic as is, I am also including in the sale the very same Mallory PVC replacement caps used in the original Trainwreck (which are unused) together with a replacement unused 'vintage' Toneslut output transformer which is a copy of the original Trainwreck output transformer.  I never got round to fitting them but with these two upgrades this will make it the Ultimate Trainwreck Express.  These parts will smooth the distortion aka the original.  The amp as stock has a slightly more textured (Marshall) grind, which some do actually prefer.

The beauty of having both Transformers and caps is that you can simply change it back if you prefer it stock.

I was going to build a maple cab etc but a new guitar forces the sale.

It includes 3 new Tungsol 12AX7's which are regarded as the best new preamp valves on the market and two matched EL34 Tesla Tubes .

The amp has been played for probably 4 hours max, so get yourself a bargain.  The amp would cost you $670 + $100 parts (Toneslut OT and Caps) + Delivery £110 = $880

Due to the exchange rate this would cost you around £600 pounds!
