id say the jcm 800 clone with a good tubescreamer or tube screamer clone. Randy rhoads used an mxr distortion+ in fron of a jmp superlead which is very similar to a jcm800 with less gain on the jmp. Id say the jcm 800 50 watter is what your looking for.

it hasnt blow a fuse while playing yet but yesterday I powered it off and switched it to 15 watts. I turned her back on and started playing for a bit and then the sound slowly faded. Checking the fuse it looked browned as if burnt but did not fully blow. I replaced it and went back to standard full power and no blown fuses though played for 45 mins straight....what gives!!

got my tranny set from tds and after some tweaking with preamp valves got all 12ax7s now in the premap as opposed to the one 12au7 in v1...holy sh*t! I havent been this inspired playing an amp for awhile and I have played and sold an orange ad140, orange rockerverb, 1978 jmp sl with 6550's and most recently vox ac30cc2 with celestion golds. The vox is sticking around to be run in stereo with the straycat but the stray is holding dominance in the amp field. I dont play super gainey rock so the gain is set super low and it just sings, literally sings on sustained notes. Good job nik

So during the first run of the amp it was cooking along pretty nicely for about an hour. I switched it from tube rec to solid state and played the set (about 30 mins) I then powered the amp off and switched it back to tube rec, turned the amp back on and no sound though all logos lit up. The HT fuse had blown. I am going to go get some fuses as I didnt have any on hand but wanted to know your opinion on what could have happened. The amp is built completely to spec using tds transformers
