Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone Layout

No, that is the amps component layout. There is no manual but the folks here can help you if you have any specific questions. The controls are labeled on the layout and the amp faceplate pretty much resembles any Dumble ODS control panel. There are plenty of pics on the www. As for the 3 internal trimmers......2 of them I wouldn't bother adjusting and the OD trimmer is set to taste.
Warning!! Be very aware that there are voltages that can KILL you in there so DO NOT go poking around unless you are absolutely sure you know what you're doing.
Which is the OD Trimmer-

Hey JeffreyB Hope you get it dialed in. I will be interested a sample and what you did to get a satisfactory to your ears tone. Have been working on my Mesa 5:50 for awhile and still haven't quite got it, Not a experienced player but still a tone junkie, it is very important to me...and everyone else Burnie

IMHO-without being a tech, you shouldn't have to put a patch cable in your amp to make it sound good, you have another problem. If everyone who has gotten this amp is getting to hear what they want then yours is an anomaly. so guys, are you all happy with what you hear?-serious question, I just sent a thousand dollars and I want to know Like Marin said-check tubes and do it one tube at a time without changing anything else

I have been eyeing the Flexloop for a while as well. Let me know what you think when you get it. I was looking for a loop for my D'lite but I went with the Ironsounds buffered DIY loop. I works perfectly. There is also a lot of literature for a Dumbleator out there so that is an option as well.[/i]
Chrisl is that the effects loop circuit they have on their site, I am intersted in seeing if that can be put in the overtone. Thx Burnie

I am using a Scumback M75-8HD LHDC_65 Watt with my Mesa 5:50 and I have a Eminence Red Fang 30 watt. I also have a Celestion G12H-65 Heritage and a Altec Lansing 417-8C
I don't like either the Celestion or the Altec with my Mesa but they might be great with the Overtone. How much difference is there with bigger size cabs, My are not big but they are wide open in back so I would think size not that important? Anyone got any expertise on that. I was thinking of putting together another cab that was bigger but I am not sure how much difference it would make.

Hi WBfree,
I tested the overtone with a Rocktron Replifex, it has a 4dB button which works real well on the overtone. The rocktron intellifex also has this option.
It's late where I live in Bend, Oregon, either you guys are night owls 707 or across the wide pacific somewhere. I am not familiar with the Rocktron and don't know what it is but will check it out tomorrow, I am sleepy and have to get my son to school in the am. I thank you all. Are you all digging the tone coming out of this amp? I am selling an amp I like to get this one (Mesa Boogie 5:50) which has some beautiful clean but not that overdriven sound I have been searching for. Thx Burnie

Thanks guys, I was feeling like the lone ranger and thanks for the info. We'll see what happens when I get it I really only want to run, at this time a moogerfogger phaser and a sweet sound univibe. If the amp is as killer as I hope I will deal with it gladly. Thank you for the tips and the welcome.

No one has replied to my first post but having read all this, I am expecting an email from Nik tonight and will pull that proverbial trigger. As always, very excited to get a new amp..I have been looking for the right one forever..707, that makes me unique? not.

I have no expertise but would be interested in how to do this if possible, I know you can go between 6l6 and el34 if I am correct but to be able to use 6v6 would be awesome. Not knowing much can you use kt66 in the overtone. And a tip of my hat to you tech guys who build them yourselves. Thx Burnie

Hey All My first post, I joined because I am about to order an Overtone and to do this I have sell My Mesa 5:50 and I am thinking am I crazy or is this a wise move. I don't have enough dinero to keep both amps. One of the things that concerns me is the effects loop, I run my modulation effects in that loop. I just wanted some thoughts, Nik has been terrific, I tend to get all into detail and he has been real patient, anyhow I just wondered what you guys have to say and thanks for letting me post here. Burnie
