That's the one, I'm located in Australia. Freight would be the cost of a nice speaker. So I'm looking at building one. Nick

Just starting on my overtone. I plan on using this amp to tour. Has anyone used "locktite" on all the screws or are the lock washers and the aluminum casing enough to keep it all secure? thanks nick

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks. Got my overtone arriving soon. (It just arrived !) in bits package 2.
I have a BF Vibrolux 2x10 and an old AC-30 to compare.
I'm hoping that it will be able to cover the bases of these amps clean sound. Not clone them but have a clean sound that is usable but different. Its clean sound is of primary importance to me.
Speakers will make a huge difference, A celestion v's a jensen will change your sound and 10" v's 12" will too.
Early Marshalls are a bassman style circuit. The speakers and cab used has allot to do with the character of these amps. I shopped around for AC-30s years ago I found that the Blue/sliver speakers in the old amps gave the vox sound. The re-issues with greenbacks at the time didn't sound right.
I think find where the Overtone sits sound wise first. Play it, gig with it, find a speaker you like with it. Then find a amp that will fill the hole. Could be even be something like an AC-15, Matchless, or trainwreck.
Last note on the Fender sound. A tweed deluxe is a completely different sound to a twinreverb and the new "hotrod" Blues Jr style amps are a different thing again. You can't compare apples and oranges. From my understanding you can't even compare 2 *umbles.
What would be nice, is to get an insight into is how these *umble style amps are changed to suit different players. Nick

I think the Idea that dumbles are Larry Carlton, Robben Ford sounds is a bit misleading. Think David Lindley, Lowell George and we would be dealing with a different pallet of this type of amp. SRV uses allot of different amps and combinations of many together. When you hear his Dumble the high end in the sound is different to his fendery "Lenny" tone. Nick

Hi I'm new round here waiting on my overtone Kit. But a similar concern. Can anyone with experience say what sort of levels (+4 ,0 -3 db etc) you see straight from the FX loop verses a buffered loop. Some good delays and reverbs are capable of handling a broad range of signal levels. I'm planning to use a Chandler echo in the loop will this work without the buffered loop? Thanks Nick
