Thanks to Gil Ayan and Scott Lerner!

Here's the BOM. Quantities are approximate. I suggest ordering a few extra of everything except the 350v electrolytic caps. These are the mouser catalog numbers.

do the mods I posted in the other thread.
63  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Ceriatone mods done on: May 01, 2008, 12:49:29 AM
here's the diagram I made with "my" mods. Thanks to Gil Ayan and Scott Lerner for the suggestions. I merely did the soldering. Gil and Scott did the engineering.

Changes are indicated in red.

i'm going to do a full layout using nik's base layout but with the revised parts highlighted in yellow. I just finished mine tonight. My clip isn't as hip as andy's but it's here:

here's a very quick and dirty clip done with an edwards LP with P90s. Previously, this would have been bright and shrill.

I'm getting the Illustrator file from Nik and I'll post an updated layout with the new components highlighted.

if you're having problems getting the mp3 to play try this:

Hi Ken,

That's a good idea. Using photoshop I'll mark up the schematic when I get some time. Does anyone know what Nik uses to generate the schematics? Visio or something else? Maybe I can get the original files and replace the component values and then hilight them?

Jack,
I'm a new guy here and I've recently won an OTS on eBay. I consider myself a lucky dog! I've emailed Nik and he sent me mods, many of which are things you're doing.

I'm not real good at reading schematics so was wondering if it would be too much to ask if you could mark up/circle or otherwise notate a copy of the schematic and then post it so we can all see what areas of the board you're going to for the changes. For example, I can't seem to find the cathode bipass/preamp caps (the 2 - 2.2 uf ones) for the life of me... Blind, I guess...

Oh, and let me add that you're a very masterful player. Love your clips, my friend. Do you play out at all?

Cheers -
Ken

70  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Ceriatone cleans on: April 28, 2008, 02:45:33 AM
no boosts on that clip. I tend to like the sound without the PAB engaged though that may change when I get all the mods done. I'll definitely post my mods recipe.
71  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Footswitch idea...rocket scientists need apply on: April 28, 2008, 02:34:38 AM
I think it would be real cool to be able to go from Clean/Boost to Overdrive/no Boost with one click of the switch. A pedal with 4 switches set up for: Clean, Clean Boost, Overdrive, Overdrive Boost would be nice...real nice. Can this be accomplished somehow using the 5 pin out?

I realize I could use a midi switcher ala GCX and put the switching in loops but would rather not.

TIA!

I would like the bright switch and mid switch on a pedal...
72  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Ceriatone cleans on: April 27, 2008, 04:01:53 AM
WoW...it sounds really good as it is!!!  Don't forget to post the complete recipe for those of us that are following the progress of your modifications Grin

I definitely will. Hopefully Nik will incorporate these changes into his recipe since his amp seems to be based on a particular rev of the schematic that was floating around and not necessarily the one that Robben and Larry use. The changes I'm making will make it closer to the magical version...
73  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Ceriatone cleans on: April 26, 2008, 11:18:28 PM
Sounds really nice!!!  Are you finished with all the modification?

No. I've only done about 20% of them. I have a bunch of parts on the way from mouser. They should get here wednesday. Hopefully I'll have time wednesday night to install them.
