Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Thoughts on the Jazz Voicing?

Yes 95% of D-style amp user's use the Rock Setting.
It is although Larry Carlton's preferred setting to use the Jazz setting with the Preamp Volume up high (like 2-3:00). I guess it really depends on personal preference etc. as well as guitar choice. Larry Carlton did spend a lot of time just using the Clean channel in past. In recent year's he has been using the "Dumble Ripper Voicing" (Bludotone's and real Dumble ODS's) which is a a Bluesmaster variant with cathode follower OD (like a Marshall etc.) and still uses the Jazz setting.

The Dumbleator and Suhr MiniMix II Scott uses really adds the compression and Bloom. Non-HRm's do this very easily. HRm's not so much, you have to really work for the harmonic bloom. A great neck through or set neck guitar also adds to this, as well as having vintage PAF based pups. I believe he uses Wolftone pups in his Baker B3.
My Quinn 183 with a D-lator just blooms like a mofo cause of Scott's recommendations of NOS Ge short plates pre-amp tubes, high pF RG-400 cables in the loop, and Dumbleator etc. All these details just add to it and make the amp more versatile, more responsive, and just outright fun to play.
BTW the Klein is also very transparent compared to a good built Dumbleator.

The Bluesmaster and 183 are polar opposites but equally as versatile. The Bluesmaster has a fat bass artifact in both the clean and OD that makes it sound huge. 183 (Or most Non-HRm's) has a very focused OD and very chimey/sparkly cleans. The Bluesmaster has separate Master Volumes which is nice to dial in and balance both channels. 183 has 1 master Volume but its very balanced already. If you're using a D-lator with either they are both great circuits.
You really have to ask your self what guitar you play the most (Strat with single coils or Les Paul style with buckers. In all honesty I was primarily a Strat player when I first got my Bluesmaster and I soon changed to a Les Paul with Humbuckers right after.
A strat with Single coil pups sounds steller with the Bluesmaster cleans. 183 sounds killer with a Les Paul and Tele's alike as well as a very Eric Johnson'ish type OD tonez reminiscent of his song "ZAP" which has a very focused and horn like Midrange.

+1 I agree. Same config here but this instead:
1) Celestion 12G65 (2x12 open back) 2) Eminence Texas Heat (In ported 1x12 cabinet) 3) EV12L (2x12 cab)
Actually I've been digging a ported 2x12 with a Celestion g1265 and an Eminence Texas heat lately...

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Amp to C-lator cable length?

I've had the best result's with Mil-Spec RG-400 cable and Lava solderless (George L's or Planet waves) 1/4 cable ends.
The best method of finding what value is best for your amp is to get a bunch of pF caps (170pf to 330pF) to ground instead of cutting cable's etc.

Because all dumble amps were different in one form another I think every d~style amp could benefit from specific mods to voice the amp for a particular player

You'll get better results using the MiniMix in the loop of the D-lator so you can retain the Serial Dumbleator effect and still remain to be able to mix in your effects Parallel.

Greg, are you using the JAN NOS Short Plate Ge's or the Standard NOS?
Yes they're NOS Jan short plate GE's with halo getter's. I have these in my Quinn 183 preamp also (That's what TAG's original Dumble ODS #183 had in it when Scott Lerner examined it).

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Front panel cloth replacement

Its quick and easy. Just take the existing tolex that's on the front panel, take the cloth you want to replace it with, stretch it, make sure its straight, then staple it on.
