I prefer it with master high and volume/ratio low since it does loosen up the clean tone a little. Try it, but Nik is right the cleans are a little 'drier' when done the other way round.

Turn the pot fully one way. Use a multimeter then to check which post is connected to the common. That'll be your starting post, work your way around from there.

Also have to ask which model is it? S&M is harsher than OTS, and of course on the HRM you can tweak EQ to taste.

Personally I love customised cabs, however if you ever take it to a gig you'd better play aswell as your amp looks!
Thats why I prefer an understated headshell/cab, my playing wouldn't live up to a beautiful creation like the Soultone.

, and wait about 5 minutes, the do hard pressure for better results....
Nd if you need to stretch it you can use a hot air gun to soften the tolex, just don't overheat it.

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: OTS HRM Bluesmaster - Please could someone describe the tone...

Me too. I would like to hear the clean tone too. My OTS is not as chimey as my DC-30 and I'd like an OTS with a clean more like that, but without the Fender Twin spiky, ice pick treble, and a really smooth OD tone, and by smooth I don't mean warm and bassy, I mean no hint of hard edged clipping to the overdriven sound, as far away from a Marshall JCM900 hard edged drive as possible. Not asking much I know!!

mcinku, you've done a really good job there. I really like the BM tone though theres a slight buzzy edge to the OD, though that might be in the recording.

I thought I'd give them a try as there was a pair on ebay. I think most of you could probably guess what they're like, quite a bit more Vox'y with a nice chime to the clean, a lot less headroom and a cut in volume which is what I wanted to achieve. OD is nice but with a different flavour, almost Marshally.
Overall something worth a try but changes the amp a lot. If the band ever get a new vocalist I'll try it out at rehearsal. I think it won't be as well behaved with pedals as the 6L6's but we'll see.

B+, an explanation from someone who 2 yearsa ago thought it was an essay grade!
The rectified output from the power transformer is still a bit AC'ish in that its not a constant voltage, with residual peaks and troughs. The smoothing caps aim to do just that, remove these peaks and troughs and allow the supply to the amp to be a smooth DC.
