What is the effect when you swap the jan phillips and the rca in v1 and v2? Most ppl I kno with an RCA almost always put it in v1.
mmnnnnn a little rounder tone a little less aggressive. I just swapped em back after your post to remeber the diff lol.

Ive just changed out my 12ax7 in pos 3 for a 12at7 and it sounds really good. A little less gain but much sweeter sounding cleans.
anyone had a similar experience?

Ceriatone / Overtone / so ive got a OTS FM ME with NOS tubes and I bought a TR gainmaster..............

OK now, i do love my ceriatone and will love it more after pickmasters TR CR clean mods are done (this week) and ............................ last week in a moment of weakness I bought a Two Rock Gainmaster 35. So I really loved some of the tones and was kinda thinkin that it might replace my ceriatone (blasphemy). But after having it for a week, and really workin the settings, I couldnt get it to sound as good as my ceriatone! Supposedly it has the same basic circuit as the Ts-1, the full on dumble two rock, but the creamy, cello like musical overdrive just wasnt in it no matter what I did. In all honesty the cleans were better but after the aforementioned mods, my OTS will be killer!
So I gave it back!!
Now in fairness it was still an awesome amp but in no way was it going to replace my OTS! Not on its best day!
My local Two Rock dealer is getting a Ts-1 for another customer and im really keen to play it against my OTS, i'll keep you posted................

so the tubes were running at 32 miliamps, so too low and were giving some crossover distortion on the cleans. Now rebiased and running up at 40 miliamps with 70% disipation.
(to the amp tech gurus i apologise if the above wasnt expressed in the correct way lol!)
anyway, now all good!

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Anyone Using a Zendrive (or derivative) with Their C-Tone?

I use mine to give another channel on my ots. Set for low gain it fills a gap left from clean to the od channel on the amp and then the pab. So I go
ch1 - clean zen - edgy rythms ch2 - leads (or more dirty rythms) ch2 pab - hangin it all out.
it gives me the same ots (dumble flavour) at a lower gain setting than ch2.

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Fx in the clator or back out front?

ive seen a current shot of RF s setup. Not from his fansite but really recent ie weeks old not months or years. It definately had the Zen back in (not the dumkudo) and has modulation and time based effects going into the front of his dumble. Nothing was in the loop. I dont even know of RF uses a dumbleator type product.
It made me experiment with everything out front and while my reverb is really accentuated with the od channel engaged, everything else sounds good!!
go figure?!!
