Thanks I love the way the speakers sounds... The cannabis Rex adds a nice sparkle, without being to trebly... I think its a nice combination... I will record some sound samples sometime next week i think René |

Hi Fred... Wrote a email to nik about the diminsions of the overtone cab a while ago... Here is his answer
The chassis is 19 x 8 x 2.5"
Your cab will be 21 x 9.5 x 10" or so.
The opening would be about 19.5" or so, since there are screws at the chassis side walls.

Hi the 220K resistor on the preamp out power amp in didn't have any effect because the two same points were connected directly by a piece thread  No worries your 220K is definitely a spare... |

Hi
on the old layout there was a 220K resistor parallel with a 270pF capacitor between two legs on the "power amp in" and "the preamp out", but these were removed on the latest version of the layout... So I think the extra resistor you have is a spare...
The only other place in the layout were there is a 220k resistor is on one of the preamp tubes from leg 7 to the shielded wire tagged B

thats what i thought. I have the red probe in one of the red sockets and the black probe in the centre black socket, which should measure just the one.
Have you turned the bias pot fully clockwise, when you have the 96mV... Because when i turned mine up to 26-28 mA (at its fullest) I had around the same readings in mV, and the 6l6 got extremely hot... try to bias the amp with DC reading between black and red jack. And bias it so it says something between 30-40mV Kind regards René |

I recently spent some time with 4 sets of 6L6 tubes in my amp and I found there was a little 'grainy' character with the bias low (25ma) and this got better for each tube up to about 35ma. One set even sounded best at 42ma, but another old, old set arced (internal spark) at 42ma. The sound at 25ma was still very acceptable for all the tubes, though, just depends on how critical you are. It is a trade-off between smoothness of tone and heat. I wound up liking from 35ma to 38ma, but this is a home recording amp. For gigging, less heat and more reliability might dictate around 30ma.
In terms of changing your bias circuit, either raise that 1.2k resistor with experimentation, or e-mail Nik to see what he recommends.
I've emailed Nik, and he told me that i have to measure from the red point to the black point, with my meter set at DC Then i have to regulate it till it says 30-40 mV.... I did that and when measuring the from the same point with my meter set at mA, it only reads 11,6 mA... But according to Nik this is fine I don't understand this at all. If mA and mV should be reading the same and Nik said bias should be 30-40 mV, why would a reading of 11.6 mA be fine??  Am I missing something? Nik wrote this to me " I dont think the standard meter will give an accurate reading. The resistance inside the meter screws the reading, I would think." |

Hi Received my Ceriatone overtone kit 2 a couple a weeks ago. After about 15 hours of soldering, I'm finally finished. Had a few problems with the footswitch, but with a little (and quick) support from Nik, I quickly fixed the problem. Just the two wires on the DIN, that was soldered on wrong... Here is some pictures of the final build          This amp works and sounds amazing, oh my god Put the internal trimmer at around 10-11 o'clock and this works super well.. Either I boost the OD channel with my TS808 or my T-rex dr. swamp for screaming leads, or use the amps PAB to push it over the edge... And the cleans, they are absolutely amazing Tested it with my Fender Telecaster and my Gibson Les Paul and both guitars sound great on this amp When I receive my custom build 2x12" cab and my eminence tonespotter and cannabis rex speaker I will record some demos... I'm having the same problem... Just finished my overtone special, and everything works fine and it sounds great especially the cleans...
But when my bias pot is up full, it only shows 28mA... this is when measured from the point between the two 6L6 tubes and to one of the two other points...

Tworock uses Emi RW&B speakers. I previously had a love affair with these speakers but lately we've had a falling out.  I now consider them too dark. Which Two Rock speaker is the RW&B, they have 2 different ones offered, one being slightly brighter than the other. I think I like the idea of mixing 2 different speakers to get the tone I want - Would a RW&B and a Wizard be a good mix? That's news to me. Where is that info listed? Just checked the EMI site. There are not 2 versions offered. No, what I mean is that Two Rock offer a choice from 2 different speakers in their cabs: http://two-rock.com/products/spkrs.htmlLogically only 1 of those 2 could be the equivalent of the Red White & Blues, just trying to figure out which, and what the equivalent of the other speakers would be... I've read somewhere that two-rocks uses the Eminence tonespotter speaker (which is a clone of af G12-65)... But I can't say for sure... René |

I've ended up with a Eminence 12" Tonespotter 8 Ohm and a Eminence 12" Cannabis Rex 8 ohm... Going to set them up in seriel...
Going to receive my amp and speakers about a week or two from now, so I'll post my experience with the amp, and speakers
