256  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Can I get decent tones at bedroom level? on: February 10, 2010, 08:18:26 AM

The Clean on my BM is super fat @ bedroom levels and seems to get fatter when @ gig level.

I am suffice with how it sounds @ bedroom levels although . I prefer to record with it @  bedroom levels too.

My OD changes a little (in a good way) when @ gig levels.

It seems that the more I go past noon on the master (which is ooober loud LOL)
the more the clean channel gets dirty (which by then the Power section is working
pretty F'in hard) and the OD seems to get more 3D + bloomy.  I rarely go past noon though.

With my amp mic'ed @ gigs I usually set my amp this way:

 Clean Vol between 1 to 3:00 / Master Vol @ 10:30
 OD drive @ 1 to 3:00 / OD Master Vol @ 11:00

My amp is extremely loud @ this point but I prefer it this way. I will sometimes change to accommodate different venues. I use a lot of pedals too though.

At home I use the settings above, just the masters don't get past 8:00 though Smiley
257  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Which Overtone is most like Fuchs ODS 30? on: February 10, 2010, 01:43:27 AM

I believe all fuchs amps are non-hrm unless specified other when the amp is being built .

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

There is a Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb in the loop

259  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Overtone Soundclips on: January 31, 2010, 04:09:58 PM
I still haven't got any time to post an in-depth demo showcasing the
 OD @ my house.

When I do then I can show how the OD really gets. I have been getting
closer and closer to getting the whole bloomy dumble sound, for that I
set the drive between 6 and  7 and the Level @ almost 3

I've been off of work for about 4 months so I have the amp turned on
70% of the   day LOL Grin

Here is Another clip of my 100w Bluesmaster Grin.

It was recorded using just the camera's Mic

OD drive is between 4 and 5 (11:00) and pab is on, Verb is from my holy
grail . Master volume is @ about 4  ( 9:00)

 I am using an Avatar ported 2x12 with a EvM 12-L and a G12-65
(There is a Impedance mismatch as the EV is a 8ohm and the
 G12-65 is a 16ohm, the Imp. selecter is set @ 8 ohm's because
I seemed to get more headroom there)

I didn't use any other OD, just the OD from the amp,
Keep in mind the drive is set very low.

      Don't mind the clams LOL

My current rig............Waiting for a power cond,a rack verb and delay,d-lator.

 Avatar cab with a g12-65 and a EvM-12-l sounds F'in great!

261  Ceriatone / Overtone / Possible 4x12 incarnations on: January 26, 2010, 11:07:59 PM
Possible ideas for a new 4x12, what are your ideas?

I know it sucks to lug a 4x12 around, usually there not worth using, this idea would improve the qualities of it and make it worth using.

Mixing speakers would be essential and would further dynamic range and response even more.

 What do you think?

I drew last night, its just a rough draft so far.

 **Note**

 The Ovals are ports
The lines would signify a sealed speaker,
or a separation in the cab,or both.

262  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best Speakers for 4x12 cab with a HRM on: January 25, 2010, 10:58:37 PM

I was going to do it with my 4x12 but I sold it and downsized, now I'm using a 2x12 with a g1256 and a Evm12-l and it sounds great. I take a 1x12 loaded with a g1285 for my grab and go cab for like open mics and all that other small jazz.

Here is what I drew up, Its just kind of a rough draft. Good starting point though

  "Possible incarnations of a d-style 4x12"

(# 4 is a little whacky but would be quite interesting to say the least)
263  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best Speakers for 4x12 cab with a HRM on: January 24, 2010, 07:23:53 AM
You should seal one and port the other.........It will give you a full range response.
264  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Step by step BM HRM build... on: January 23, 2010, 08:16:09 AM

mcinku,

Have you heard any clips of my BM,do you think they sound similar? You might have a particularly different style that me sonically,I mean everone is different ,you know?

Just haven't heard many BM's so far.....I know my amp feels spongy and lets me express myself. I got to really open it up tonight and it was drastically different from playing @ my house or @ a small rehearsal.

OD was very quick to respond and very touch sensitive.

The Clean was glassy (not ice picky though) like butt-uh Grin The clean cut through the mix.......All the SRV type sounds that I play were ginormous girthy (not flubby though) bass was balanced with the mids.

I come from using a multiple amp rig
And really have not used an amp with Od and Clean till the last few months.Usually a Marshall type and a Fender type. I feel that the BM is my grab and go amp now, Its got all that I need and more Grin The Od takes a little getting used too though

Also Have you used any fuzz pedals with yours? I just built a few exact fuzz faces clones with all NOS parts silicon and germanium and they seemed not to cut through the mix compared with using my clean and OD alone.

I have used some other dirt pedals with the clean and have been satified. With dirt pedals and the BM I get a nice tonal pallet without having to keep twisting knobs at gigs to get my sound (song to song).
.
Can we hear your BM with your d-lator soon...........Please? Huh?
265  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Rock/Pop/Alternative music -> Overtone ? on: January 14, 2010, 12:25:05 AM

  I am using a G-12-65 and a EvM-12-L in a Avatar d-style ported 2x12.

You can definitely get a more open revealing OD out of the Bluesmaster.
The Clean on my amp is great though, It loves pedals too. I am going to do a clip with a few pedals like a Fuzz, Envelope filter,Wah etc.

I will make a clip showcasing the OD alone soon.
266  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Rock/Pop/Alternative music -> Overtone ? on: January 13, 2010, 01:18:35 AM

Thanks again. I am debating getting another BM with some huge 150w iron and some 4 6550's and instead of having overdrive I want one big super chimy clean amp with verb. Not having OD would leave 2 holes on the front panel and 2 spaces for verb controls.they could be send/return controls for the verb, and also a built in d-lator would be cool too.
267  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Rock/Pop/Alternative music -> Overtone ? on: January 12, 2010, 11:06:16 PM
You are very welcome
268  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Used Ceriatone OTS - how to tell if it was built by Ceriatone? on: January 12, 2010, 07:51:56 PM

You might be able to tell by looking on the side of the chassis. Nik usually marks them accordingly to the buyer as they order. Is should say the make, model, headcase or not ,and who it was built by,date ordered, shipping info,
269  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Looking to buy an overtone but you can't make your mind? on: January 12, 2010, 07:48:15 PM
