Well since the kits are going away, maybe nows a good time to start getting some BOM's posted.
I will post my BOM for all hardware and pots from Hoffman that I ordered as soon as Im sure its correct! This is for a HRM MK2 build that I ordered board only and chassis only so it does not include resistors and caps.
On some spare time I will try to figure out Mouser and get some stuff going too!
Although I am posting this in the overtone section I think this should be done for every amp.

This is a chance for everyone to chip in and keep this community strong!

Hope everyone will agree

Im in sacramento or colfax CA actually
You are welcome to come by and play my amps anytime you want!
I saw McInku was here earlier he has had the HRM and Non HRM and could maybe atleast give you his opinion on which one he likes the most. There are a few others that have more than one OTS and can give comparisons.
I had the same trouble trying to decide, I know it aint easy but there also is no wrong decision so good luck man.
BTW the few clips I have heard on the FM do not do justice compared to the tone
Im getting or was getting when I had 2 working hands Cheesy

Thats true Kevster

You will learn more as well, but I still do not see anything good to come from this!
BTW they have already started Nik bashing over at TAG, maybe a few here should chime in with a little support for the man that has made amp building affordable for us people that cant spend >$2500 for an amp!

Well this goes with the week I've just had.

I had tickets to see Joe Bonamassa for the 1st time, server blew up at work so I had to stay back and fix it and I couldn't go.

Then the TV show I work on has been axed after 6 years and massive staff cut backs announced.

Now this!

I here you man,
Hey atleast when you get home you can play the guitar.
As you can see I will have a pretty shitty 6 weeks
Guess I will practice my legato Wink

BTW thanks alot Blues, guess those karma smite buttons work Grin
Guess I deserved it Cry

230  Website, Store / Suggestions / Continue selling kits, stop tech support on: May 27, 2011, 01:05:21 PM
Hey Nik
This is very sad news for this community of amp builders.

If the tech support / holding peoples hands through the build is a problem dont do it! That is what this forum is here for.

I dont know who is saying your components are shitty but they are sadly mistaken and probably just jealous because they spent >$2500 for a name brand amp with the same components. Dont let these assholes bother you.

I do not understand how it is easier to build the complete amp than to count the parts out and package them for you! You still have to count the parts before building them right?

As McInku stated in the ots section of this forum, put a disclaimer on your website that all tech support will be through forum only or else the builder will have to bring it to an amp tech! That would sure save you a lot of emails back and forth and you could focus on bringing out the new products.

Just my 2 cents

Honestly I'd rather see you raise your prices than drop your kits

Dont do it Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Proud owner of 2 soon to be 3 ceriatone amps ( from kit )

Kevster

I dont think anyone will tell you which one to get.
This is your decision!

Now you got a couple weeks to ask as many questions, watch as many clips as possible to make up your mind if you want a kit.

Whichever one you choose will be a good choice

Oh yeah
He actually has installed the pots and tube sockets so far, but will be put on hold a couple more weeks when he gets his summer vacation.
I did notice the chassis is painted white over the grounding locations after he had installed the tube sockets so if any one is starting this build the first thing that should be done is to file/grind down to the bare metal in each ground location.
He will have to redo the tube sockets because of this!

That is correct!

Yes
The speaker outs are parallel
when 2 speakers of same rating are parallel the resistance is cut in half
When in series the resistance will be the sum of the 2

Ohms law

The change in tone is somewhat subtle when using the LNFB switch.
What I have noticed is with it off the amp is more dumbley sounding, and on its gives it a little more hair so to speak.
I like it better off, but its nice to have anyways.

236  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Stalking a new Ceriatone Overtone FM50 Mod Eagle... on: May 23, 2011, 09:00:03 PM
A few components were changed from the original FM to make it less bright!
Modern eagle will be just a hair darker than the regular FM
Couple caps and a couple resistors! Thats all

It's cool man

Just think questions that are valid should be answered or at least point them in right direction.

Please respect my point of view

Peace.

@ Tom Vernon

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitive_coupling

Tells you what it does, not where they are!

Once I find out where they are I will try to answer your original question as intended!

If You dont know what coupling caps are, you shoild Probably keep your fingers out of a tube amp.

Just a kind hint

Hows the guy meant to learn unless he asks.

He could use the search bottom or google......................... Shocked

WOW are you always this helpful?

Seems that maybe if you put a disclaimer about high voltage in your profile you could save yourself a lot of useless post's

As the others stated, I come here to speak with the experienced guys about this stuff rather than google search and get a shitload of useless information.

If you think you are just to damn educated on this stuff to share than maybe you shouldnt even be here!

I honestly dont want to be rude here but this is unacceptable.

Do you own an amp building company and just dont want any more competition or what?

All the best Lips Sealed
