the OD didnt sound fuzzy but it had a slighty "unnatural" charateristic to it

hmm i was just thinking the added headroom would be nice plus KT-88s get awesome bass response.

How about 6550's or other higher headroom tubes?

im running tung sol 5881's at about 37mA they sound pretty good but i think they lack some headroom

Can an OTS use KT88 power tubes? With biasing ofcourse.

Give the amp time to break in. also the HRM gives you the ability to adjust the EQ on the Overdrive via trim pots in the amp

there isnt too much you can do about that problem. i think the easiest solution would be to get an EQ pedal which also gives you more control over what frequencys you can change

All ceriatone amps are PTP and they use quality parts. if you're really worried Nik will charge $200 extra for top of the line parts but acording to him they dont make a noticeable difference.

the FX loop on the OTS is passive. its fine but getting a kleinulator or dumbleator really opens the amp up

i think a handwired carvin would be a great amp to start producing

Does anyone have a layout for the treble bleed mod to reduce highend on the OD channel? im having trouble finding one

the OTS and S&M special are very similar but the S&M is alot brighter. i think the normal OTS will get the closest to the fuchs tone. you may have to do some mods but i think the non-HRM would be best

im running tungsol 5881's at 37mA they sound great

i know romoving the .5 uF cap makes the clean channel slightly fatter

i think one of the biggest problems is right now im using a marshall 4x12 with greenbacks. its all i have but its way more than i need. i ordered a custom 2x12 which should help with the volume problem. i really like to open the master up to about 3 because thats where my sweet spot seems to be.
