Non HRM OTS 100w ! Especially with MMs and my mods. Blows away Fender twin with no problems. Cleans are so good on my Li’l monsta I don’t want to switch on a drive channel. Don’t get me wrong! Drive is also fantastic but cleans – oh! Pure orgasm!
OTS 50-Watt (Volume and Master on 2) on Lead Channel with K-lator, Reverb and Delay in loop. Strat straight into amp with EA cable. Excuse 1-take noodling sloppiness and silly mix:
I've always used the clean channel with a couple of stacked OD pedals up front, but lately been loving just using Lead Channel and using volume control on guitar to clean up as required - so transparent and uncolored tone.
Very slightly. But most importantly (for my taste) it adds roundness and chirpy, liquid compression to the tone, more sustain and overall bigger feel. After long experiments I really prefer 68k 2w metal film resistor.
No, it is on V1 first anod. In S&M, OTS and HRM resistor is 150k, sits behind 0,1mf cap. On BM it's 47k. On my 50w I have 56k and on 100w OTS I have 68k.
Mcinku my man thanks, They are very preserved listeners. As Frank Zappa mentioned once – as far as they pay my dues they are alive and appreciation is a bonus. I’d love to come and play in your lovely country. Hopefully I will one day. Best wishes my friend.
What are your special tweaks? I presume your amp is different from previous recordings?
Hi Erwin,
Thanks for your kind words. No I did not change anything this time, only fuchs verbrator in the loop which does not affect the tone at all. And direct signal from the desk to camera. Oh yesss! And good sound guys on the desk!
Had a nice gig in Basildon, Essex, UK at the Crawdaddy Club and recorded sound on my camcorder via house mixing desk. Much better then with a microphone. Ceriatone Overtone Special clean, clean boost and drive channels demo in live situation. No effects, just fultone wah in front of the amp and a fuchs verbrator in the loop. My 2x12 cab with a G12 centuries and built in mic capsule.
Every parallel device, including your D-lator would be transparent. That’s why it is PARALEL. I'm sure you know that D-lator 3D effect only occurs if you have it in series loop with stereo out device (chorus, delay etc) together with second amp. Otherwise D-lator effect is a myth based on small increase of a loop gain which feels like a “bigger amp” with corrupted tone unfortunately. Big Tex reverb? Non significant after TC 2290 and Lexicon MX400 was created ! not IMO, just fact.
I am getting ready to built one in a 1u rack case and I am hoping that it will sound decent. Hopefully this will be a great alternative to digital units as there is nothing like good 'ol tube spring reverb!!!
Don’t bother! I’ve tried fender reverb, also Roland RE-201 space echo (spring reverb + multyhead tape delay) which is superior to Fender. Wthout and with Dumbleator. Also many rack or pedal devices. NOTHING would work properly in live situation if you don’t use a PARALEL loop divice and also you have to kill FX dry signal. The best device so far for me is a Fuchs verbrator – PARALEL digial reverb and loopolator in one small box. No tone lose at all. Cheers
