Ceriatone / Overtone / Kleinulator Update
|
on: November 06, 2008, 06:44:11 PM
|
Hello,
We are updating our Kleinulators to have protective zeners to protect the unit better in case of over voltage due to power supplies.
This mod only involves 2 components added, a resistor and a zener diode. Easy mod, so current owners please contact me for layout update.
Thank you.

Nik if you are planning a Single ended amp, better if it could be around 10 watts or so. I have a 5w SE (Ampmaker) which started me off with this bug, but I find it a little underpowered for rehearsals with an overpowering drummer.
Hywel Hey man. I will keep it 5W so they stay indoors. Please buy the full featured amp for gigs and rehearsals! LOL! I might even color it pink so the missus will like it. The only mod I'd do is to have it vibrate via footswitch. Thanks! Nik

Hello
You can refer to the HRM layout for the Deep switch.
The HRM has both, deep and mid boost.
If you find the best bright cap you like, then get rid of the bright switch (put cap on vol pot, and mod as per HRM.
THanks!

Hello
Thanks.
For those in the know, they can actually take out the signal (the mini wont have loop) and it'd act sort of like a preamp.
So perhaps, at prices close to a solid state D style pedal, people can actually get the D style preamp, tubes.
Of course, amp must be on load at all times, even if used as a preamp.
Perhaps Id put 2 standby swicthes - 1 for preamp, and 1 for power amp.
A derivative of this would definitely be an actual preamp (no power stage), but I am getting ahead of myself.
Thanks!
Nik

British Style / JCM 800 2203, 2204, 2550, 2555 / Re: JCM800 2203 - Modern High Gain tones

Edes
The 2204 and 2203 were used in countless recordings that included heavy metal acts.
With pedals, you should get wherever you want, really.
When we do clones, it's exactly that as people would probably not be pleased if the 2204 sounds more like a 5150, for example.
As time permits, we will add more and more amps, incl hi gain stuff.
Thanks!

Hello,
Real nice!
Sorry for the late reply though!
If we see more purple in amps, and other things, I think the world will be a much better place to live in!
All hail purple amps and purple knobs!!
Thanks!
Nik
