I think the Fenders and Marshalls have been done to death.
Nik wants to include more variety from what I hear, including more high gain heads and some other new ones like a Matchless Clubman etc.
Cat
Tweed Fenders yes, Blackface Fenders no - and they're very different beasts.

Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Shaping your tone 'without' a soldering iron.

All good points, and the easiest thing to try even if you are happy to jump in with a soldering iron. I've had amps in the past that really didn't do it for me with 12AX7's in but sub-ing those for a 12AY7 or 5751 has transformed the tone..!!

Although extensively modified, this started life as an Overtone kit.
Where did you get the new faceplate? That looks awsome!! Also is that he standard Ceriatone Head Cab?

Hi guys,
Does anyone have any plans they can upload/send me for a Two Rock style head cab for the OTS and/or vertical 2x12" oval ported cabinet?

The speaker cloth on the front panel just transforms the look of the amp doesn't it..!!
Til now I was trying to find someone to build me a Two Rock style head cabinet when the time comes for me to order my OTS, but seeing yours I'm now thinking that I'll just go with the one Nik provides...

Come on people, let's see your finished Overtones, the outsides that is, there's plenty of shots of the insides of amps.
Just thought it would be nice to have 1 thread where everything could post their pics to compare/contrast...

I have recently upgraded my OTS rig with the TC Electronic G-Sharp (reverb & delay) and BBE Sonic Maximizer 482i running through the effects loop. It is impossible to overstate how good this set up sounds. What does the Sonic Maximiser do?

in which case, shouldnt we be pushing nik to create a Two-Rock CR sig clone?? Nik, you listening?? FWIW if anyone here is thinking of moding their OTS to a TR CS type amp, there's a lot of very helpful people over on ampgarage.com...

If you look at the Ceriatone range, none of the amps have reverb. Couple that with the fact that Nik recently said that once he has the HRM model done he won't be working on any more D-type models, at least for a while. I personally would love to see his take on a Steel String Slinger, but that's another matter altogether!!
My advice, get whichever OTS you are looking at, a kleinulator and a decent reverb unit and run it in the effects loop using the kleinulator...

Haha most definitely not a fanboy haha. Fan yes, but thats a different story. Im also a big fan of SRV's tone so today i actually went on ebay and got a Fender Super Reverb. Used by both Mayer and SRV for some of their tones, i figured it would be a better buy for me and i can save some money (only paid $825 for a brand new one). Im also getting a fulltone OCD, Line 6 DL4, and a Keeley Modded TS808.
Waaaaaatch out!
What year is the Super Reverb? I'll bet you soon start saving for an Overtone though....everyone should have an Overtone....

i hated the overdrive on the vintage modern, but if you set it clean with the mid boost and put the master pretty high i really like that tone
To be fair I'm not really a fan of any Marshall OD sounds since the 60's...which is why I like the Vintage Modern, get those KT66's really cooking by keeping the gain low and the Master wound up!! Don't have one myself, but fiance's brother has and it's the only new Marshall I can get a sound I like out of.
