NIK,

When will it be listed on the Ceriatone Website?

BTW I recommend using a .022 input can instead of the stock .0047 (with a dpdt center OFF switch you can use the stock .0047, a 0.01, and a .022 )  that is the key to the Clapton Beano tone IMHO
108  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Bluesmaster settings - keep the Bass control dialed in low on: February 13, 2011, 01:04:26 AM
I've built and tweaked many, many rangemaster's. I have a pedal that's part of my line that is similar to the Beano boost buy more Mids oriented. The thing with rangmasters is they may add treble but in a very unusual way. I use a rangemaster on my pedal board only for that scooped Warren Haynes/Clapton Cream era type neck pup tone. Great pedal but not a problem solver for the Bluesmaster.

Wait till your amp breaks in more. I waited a few months before I really got to know my amp and was really able to find my own voice.
109  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Cost of a new dumble on: February 11, 2011, 05:29:40 PM
The amp you posted is $100,000 because it is a very famous dumble. It was extensively tweaked by the man personally and it was used on countless famous recordings.

It has been covered in depth here:

110  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best Overtone Special for the Two-Rock Custom Reverb sound ? on: February 09, 2011, 05:00:12 PM
With NON HRM's there are no Treble Middle Bass controls internally (only HRM's contain internal TMB controls). You can use the treble/middle/bass controls on the front panel (because the clean cascades into the OD). When you use the PAB or Pre Amp Boost it disables the tonestack to give you a boost.

To my knowledge the Custom Reverb signature is a non-HRM classic with some values tweaked, a buffered effects loop (well half of one anyways) and a non-loading reverb (AKA non tone sucking) circuit.
111  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Bias point for EL34's on: February 08, 2011, 11:53:18 PM
I tried the SED EL's @ 32 mA in my HRM and I could tell the feel of the amp was drastically different in terms of feel. Very stiff for my taste's. Considering the Bluesmaster PI and HRM OD is very squashy feeling (in a good way) with 6L6's.

My conclusion is the amp was less tastefull with EL's (using Twin Iron)for my needs.

I am considering getting the Bluesmaster PI changed to Skyliner spec as I have the Quinn 183' preamp coming soon. Utilizing the HRM preamp and the Non-HRM 183 preamp together (on a switching system) with a skyliner spec'd power amp will give me the best results and tons of tone options IMO. Essentially I'd be turning my rig into a Glaswerks SOD II or Fuchs Triple drive type amp.

I don't have a Ceriatone Power/Output Trafo's in my amp though. I have a Fender Twin Reverb Pwr Trafo and Tonemaster OT so I am limited to 6L6's to run @ optimum unfortunately.
113  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Best Overtone Special for the Two-Rock Custom Reverb sound ? on: February 07, 2011, 03:50:07 AM
thanks for the replies, never mind the bonamassa part. i'm not really looking to copy his tone, i just like the tone he's able to get from them.

i'm looking for an american voiced (so no HRM ?), warm, thick, mid-heavy, smooth OD sound. which amp would be best ?

Listen to a lot of clips on youtube and determine your decision that way. Certain circuits have certain characteristics. You can tell how Howard Dumble picked certain circuits for certain players

Non-HRM's will hold notes and bring them into harmonic feedback easily. The Overdrive voice is fixed . Note bloom is quick and easy. Very mid heavy, in a good way although.

HRM's are more dynamic and percussive, very touch sensitive. You gain control of the Overdrive voice with the internal Treble, Mids, and bass controls. This isn't necessarily a better feature, just different sounding than that or the non-HRM

Joe Bonamassa has 4 (OR) 5 identical (Or at least similar) amp rigs between the United States and the UK. The Rigs are kept in different parts of the country's & are sent to different cities pending on when and where the gig is. He has a few Two-Rocks in his rotation. AFAIK he prefers 100w Custom Reverb Signature Version 1's.

In the video (and other video's/articles) he explains that he digs the Robben Ford sound so maybe the Ceriatone 100w Ford Mustang (Robben's #102 ODS clone) & a C-lator maybe good for you.

Also the Marshall Jubilee is always on in his rig so its a crucial ingredient in his sound . Each amp adds a different color, frequency, and feel

This is an old clip but he still uses this amp in the rotation.

116  Ceriatone / Overtone / Bias point for EL34's on: February 05, 2011, 11:01:03 PM
Is anyone using EL34's in there Bluesmaster or HRM? If so what mA are you setting the bias for? I'm using Winged C (SED) 6CA7's.
117  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Whoever is posting all this spam PLEASE STOP! on: February 04, 2011, 10:03:45 PM

118  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: 183 on: February 03, 2011, 06:49:39 PM
SPM,

The amp sounds great, the clean sounds killer!

Can you post a video w/ the C-lator for us?
119  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Loss of Volume on: January 21, 2011, 06:23:54 AM
Do you have any replacement tubes to throw in it and test the tubes? If so find a guaranteed good tube and replace your preamp tubes 1 by one. If nothing changes take the outer 2 power tubes out, if nothing changes take the 2 center power tubes out and put the outer ones back in.
