I currently have 2 working amps built in 2012 and 1 Kleinulator available if anyone is interested.

First amp is a Ceriatone Ultra champ head, fully working amp. it is fully funtional in a home modified head cab but am selling at the bare minimum kit price without xformers.  asking $300 shipped and paypal'd (will ship without tubes)

Second amp is a Ceriatone 50 watt plexi that I bought as a kit. First it was built as a 1986 bass model then later I modified it to a year 1969  Marshall model 1987. It has classic tone transformers. PPIMV installed on rear panel. Chassis only (no head cab) (will ship without tubes)asking $550 shipped and paypal'd

Kleinulator barely used $90 shipped paypal'd (does not include power supply) Just uses standard Boss style 9volt

Please contact me with any questions  tddwlcx9@gmail.com

Pictures upon request

Because these amps were built by myself and not Ceriatone I am selling them at or below kit price but rest assured these amps were built with full attention to detail. My user name is T Wilcox here and you can find my build threads from back when this forum was much more active

I will try to post some pics later

Remove all cords from effects loop then check! If you havent already done so!
5  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: HRM vs. HRM Mk. II on: January 14, 2015, 10:32:07 PM
Hey Noel

I have an MK2 50watt and the FM 50 watt. I have not played the regular HRM so I cannot say for sure, but based on conversations I have had with Nik and other HRM owners the MK2 will have less gain in OD channel than the HRM. MK2 is smoother for lack of a better word. Although the MK2 uses EL-34's it does not sound anything like my Marshall style amps.
If you already got a Marshall, you could do what I do and run an ABY to both for the best sound if possible. I almost always use my 2550 on the left and then swap between the MK and the FM on the right. Since using this setup I almost always feel something missing when playing on either amp alone.
You cant go wrong with any of the OTS's
I added a switch to bypass the HRM tonestack on my MK2 which I have found very useful BTW. Gives up a little more grind when HRM is bypassed. Maybe ask Nik for this mod when you order if you get an HRM.

I was just using that as an example Wink
But for all I know mods may be available from the US distributor just the same

I've ordered from both. The .net is a better deal for U.S. customers but does not always have all the offering that Nik does. I think the OTS lunch box is a big seller so I'm sure it is stocked. Im not sure whether you can get certain custom options added such as PPIMV, 1/2 watt switch, etc... from the .NET site but you could email them and find out for sure.
For a non custom order I would go through them!

Hope that helps

More than likely it is just bad tubes but I do suggest checking all your voltages and compare them with the voltage chart which is located on the ceriatone website

Kit? or already built?
10  Ceriatone / Overtone / Re: Build time for an amp tech for OTS kit 2 on: April 24, 2013, 09:10:18 PM
Are you paying the tech to build your amp by the hour?
I would atleast try to get a fixed price quote for the completed ( working )amp from this tech so you dont end up paying for many more labor hours than he expected.
Building these amps is very time consuming if done right.

It depends on the in/out impedance of the fx unit you run through the OTS's effects loop. I tried running my boss gt-10 through the loop by itself and it made horrible sounds. I have heard of other people using like a holy grail reverb by itself through the loop and it sounding fine. I would just get the buffered effects loop whether it be a klein or c-lator so that you are not limited

Hey Tboulette

The ceriatone website has a voltage chart that covers most of the amps in the links section. a very handy chart.

As for the TW express, I could not seem to bond with that amp. It is very raw and loud. I left it at a friends house who is in a punk band hoping he would find a use for it and although he likes it a little more than myself he prefers his JCM800. maybe turn it into a rocket or liverpull and see if I like those circuits better.

swap your 12ax7's to start. If that doesnt work pull the chassis and get some voltage readings, check for bad or even unsoldered connections that may have been disturbed during your move.

One black wire from the transformer will go to the middle lug of the switch just below C1, the other black wire from the transformer will go to the middle lug of the switch just below C2 on the layout. The MOV is connected at both of the same lugs

EDIT Looks like Wyatt and I were both posting at the same time. So yeah what he said

Yes , C1 wire jumps to the C1 which is the hot 120v
C2 from switch wire goes to C2 neutral at IEC connector

X wire that you circled goes to the X resistor that you did not circle just above the 2 middle preamp tubes on the layout.
Y same as above. Rather than making a floating connection to the resistors I would add a terminal strip right at the pre tubes to make the connections but it is not necessary.

H1 and H2 is your heater circuit, these 2 wires should be twisted together than ran to V1 ( the first preamp tube ) labeled H1 and H2 then the same wires jumper to each tube where it is labeled F1 and F2 ( F stands for Filament, just another name for the heater ckt ) If you use 2 different color wires for example red and black you will want to land all the reds on say H1- F1 on all of the tubes, then all the blacks on H2-F2 on all the tubes.

Go to the ceriatone website and check out the pics of completed amps for examples on the heater circuit as well as any other wiring you may need to doublecheck

Hope that all makes sense
