Hello, I'm looking to buy a ceriatone overtone but I'm not really sure on which model. I'll be playing a strat with medioum-low output pickup most of the time and a guitar with PAF style pickups sometimes. Cleans are really important and I want to have a decent amount of gain (doesn't have to be a whole lot) thats sounds smooth.

Thanks

Hi Rouse

I have only played through a HRM which I received nearly 2 weeks ago and I play low output Strats, so I only have 1 perspective on these amps so it's best to get the views of other more experienced users here as well as talk to Nik.

Having said that, you definatley wouldn't be disappointed with the HRM's cleans in fact they're awesome, definately a Fender Twin like sounds and really ballsy even at bedroom levels. The loudest I have had it so far is 3 on the master volume but at rehearsal levels it's just over 1 and our rehearsal room is huge, it's 200 sq metres.

The lead sound is very versatile, it can go from slight breakup to somewhere around Mesa gain territory and everywhere in between, but with it's own distinctive sound with a lot of really nice harmonic texture and it's matches the clean sound perfectly.

For the best description between the different models have a look at this earlier posting http://ceriatoneforum.com/index.php?topic=1117.0

I hope this is of help to you.

Cheers
Brian

You could browse the sound clips to hone in on the amp tone you like and take it from there:
