I'm looking to get a compressor pedal and thought this would be a good place to ask for opinions. We're all here because tone is important to us!

So my criteria are, very light to moderate compression coupled with transparency (no colouring of) of tone. Must have a true bypass. Ideally in a small box as my pedal board layout won't allow for many more.

Thanks guys.

Buy a Keeley compressor -

Or build one (keeley compressor) yourself. The Keeley is basically a Ross Compressor, which is very similar to an ordinary MXR Dynacomp.

You can get the PCB from tonepad.com or generalguitargadgets.com either pcb is fine.

Good luck

Got rather a few too many projects on the go at the moment to take on any more! Still finishing the 2x12 for the OTS then I want a 1x15 extension cab for my DC-30, plus I've a Warmoth strat project to finish (body needs re-lacquering).... the list  goes on(not including the fairly high priority Marshall clone or possibly the TW Express on the wishlist).

Nice to know other productive people in the big world.

Forgot to mention - T-REX Comp Nova. Sounds exactly like my Keeley/ROSS/MXR MonteAllums Clone.

+1
on T-Rex Comp Nova

I have one and I bought it cause transparency was important to me as well.... and this one is all about that.
...but it's not TB and it's not small... well input/output and DC jacks are mounted on top of the box, so it doesn't take more space as a Dynacomp for example (including connectors).

BTW I had a Ross clone before and it was not transparent enough for me.
