What you describe is the complete opposite of an OTS. I just finished building mine took it to my amp tech and got it checked out and biased. It sounds simply incredible. If you built yours, i would recommend bringing it to an amp tech for a check up, bias and, to makes sure all the parts are in the right places. Also check the internal trim pots. If the overdrive trim pot up all the way it it will sound very fuzzy.

I had trouble with my OTS as well.
I recently discovered that turning the Presence up to 8 made a big difference in the transparancy of the amp. It almost works like a bright switch without cutting the lows. Just opens up the amp. Quite abrubt too (not very linear).

For me it takes away the "blanket over the speaker". Obviously it makes the OD sound a bit brighter as well, but turning up the (power) amp takes way the nasty edge.

I do use a D-lator, so result may vary :-)

Hopes this helps (a bit).

Thanks Steven,I will try it this evening.
In the weekend i tried a jan-philips 5751 in V1 and a TAD 12ax7 in V2 witch sound a lot better.
I'am trying to get this kind of sound      is this a recording with some effects? or does the speaker make a lot of difference?

I guess speaker choise makes a difference. Most people seem to like the Ceelstion 12-65 and the EV 12L.
This amp seems to feedback nicely at low volume. I would expect the OD trimmer on this amp to be raised fairly high.
I think this is a realy nice example opf the OTS. I think Tele's are made for this amp.

I just posted a clip of my OTS in the "sound clips" thread. I know you asked without any effects, but mine does have a slight reverb running thru the loop section. The reverb can be heard more live than it shows up in the recording.

Thanks Djroge, thats what i mean ,my amp sounds semilar without effects, not creamy or something special.
Are you happy with it?
I hoped it sounded something like this

With some compression and delay i can live with it,still i think there is difference in the delivered OTS amps.

The Hook R20 is a completely different amp(but great) with build in Reverb, because a large amount of reverb is used it's sounding a lot breathier...

Nice tone and playing Hans.
I like the drive tone when you turned down the treble pot on the end. Tone became more ODS – smoother.
But it still does not have this unexplained  “wet chirp”,  sweet compression on low gain drive tone and clear smoothness - as well tweaked OTS or BLUDO does.

I bet you're right  Wink

By the way, it looks like Greg bought a whole music store full of amps after selling his original Dumble #123 for €35000 on ebay - no kidding

I'am trying to get this kind of sound
is this a recording with some effects? or does the speaker make a lot of difference?

This guy does have a killer tone in this clip. Of course with my clip I'm playing single coils so I know I cannot achieve this sound.

I like the sound of my amp, but I'm still playing with the sound trying to tweek it. I'm not 100% happy at this point. But overall it does sustain for days with certain notes on certain guitars. Another thing with my clip is that the Port City cab came with Celestion Vintage 30 not the loved G12s and I think that makes a difference.
