Noob here, with a first post. What speaker(s) were used in the Dumble Overdrive Specials? The few pics I've seen seem to feature an Altec but I can't make out the model number.

It's probably been overdiscussed to put it mildly. That's why I just wanted to know if there was a standard issue that came w/ the Dumble. Lot's of spirited discussion on which is best for the OST but (as tone is relative) no hard answer.

There is no hard answer, you can put in any speaker you like.

Celestion G12-65, ElectroVoice EVM-12L, Eminence Delta pro 12, Eminence Red, white and Blues are common used speakers with Dumbles and clones.

Skydog is that you from LPF and youtube.

If you go with a Celestion Gold you have the best which I have found with the OT

I have tried EVM12L, a bit sterile, nice OD and nice cleans but I am used to Celestion Blues and Golds which are superior in both aspects(in certain applications of course)

G12-65 - nice OD, a bit flabby vs the Gold in the bass, Gold is creamier, richer, and the cleans are BF Fender only purer. I can get spanky fender tones. In fact the cleans are better than any I have heard to date from any of the forums with this amp.
