It kinda looks like the same thing but there's some componant value changes and a couple of additions here and there.  I'd love to know what it sounds like  Smiley

LOL  Tongue  Maybe this is Nik's MOJO version; It's almost the exact same as he sold end 2007/early 2008 as I recall from the dusty side of my brain.

S&M = Sami & Marin layout. You guys have all seen Marins vids online Im sure, his tone is incendiary. The S&M includes the mods implemented to achieve this sound (great phrasing not inlcuded Smiley )

Mmmmm... I thought Marin´s OTS was still a stock end 2007/early 2008 version.

It must be similar to mine.. I have one of the first OTs (first batch of 2008). I am not 100% happy with it to tell the truth. Something on the OD channel that doesn´t quite get "there", where I want it to be. I do have the components to mod it to Jzucker/Scott Lernet/Gil Ayan specs. I just have to find myself some time to get my hands "dirty"..

Is the OD channel too bright? if so do the Pickmaster mods to v1 and V2 sockets.

I personally prefer the lower gain of the 5751 in v2 with the trimmer at approx 9:00. Even with a 12ax7 in v2 I wouldn't have the trimmer above about 11:00. Have you tried playing with the trimmer setting?

Bright.. yes.... but more than being bright, I find the OD channel just a tiny bit harsh. Don´t get me wrong, I´m pretty happy with the amp, but I want to tweak it a bit to get it "there" Wink

OD trimmer is around 11.

I´ll probably open up the amp during the christmas season and try Jzucker mods.. finally Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I didn't find that the Jack Zucker mods made much of a difference to my OD tone. The way Pickmaster arranged the v2 cap changes with a dpdt on-on-on switch to vary the values across v2b certainly allowed me to a/b the change and in the end I went for the biggest cap values. A lot better now.

Have a look in this thread.

On the other hand... from this day on, you can't mod it. If you do that you ruin everything.

When did you buy your Overtone, Marin? I have one from March 2008, is this the same layout or a modded one?
