Cool. I figured it had to be simpler than what i was thinking. I figured you were going from the preamp out from the quinn and then into the power amp in on the BM, just didn't know where the dlator went in Smiley. Sounds great, and thanks for the info!

Overdrive is like peanut butter. Some like it crunchy, some like it creamy.

Is the RG400 cable any special brand?

Nah, just look for MIL-DTL-17 spec'd (make sure the conductor is stranded) coaxial cable like this:

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/coaxialcableconnectors3.php

Are those RG400 cables at 270pf per cable or in total

Yes they're 270 pF per side (send & return from D-lator)

Hi
Need some "patch" cables between my Ojai-type of amp and the D-Lator. Using the DLator w long cables or no DLator is a HUGE difference soundwise. I need some new cables since I use some high quality but very long guitar cables at the moment.
I see mention of 270pF total for each cable going to and from the amp. The cables specs are about 80-90pF/meter (30pF/ft). Does this mean your cables each are about 3 meters long?

Both of the cables are 270 pF individualy, not the total of the two.

One way to go is get some George L cable and connectors (Lava also make some).  No soldering required and you can cut them to the length you need.  I run these between my C-lator and amp which are in the same head cab.

YES, total of 270pF for each cable. Have you measured? RG400 cables is about 80-90pF/meter (30pF/ft). Does this mean your cables are 3 meters (about 10feet) long?

Yes I measured, they're approx.10ft. You have to measure them with a pF meter for them to be accurate although, not just by length.

Oh, I'll go home and see what the cables I use now measure.
I guess the jacks give some capacitance too.

I have just completed the same setup using a G-Sharp from TC Electronic and a C-Lator into an OTS50 - concern about the hiss coming from the G-Sharp, have you experienced same thing?

Thanks

What is your rig in detail?

Are you using a power conditioner with all grounded plugs?

My D-lator does not have a grounded plug BTW.
