I was going to say: You've really got that Carlton/Ford thing going. But after listening to the whole video, I really think its a Carlton/Carlton thing. I could almost close my eyes and think I was listening to an excerpt from "Last Night". You could start an LC tribute band. Grin

Do you mind sharing what your "bedroom level" settings were and What version of the OTS you were playing? I think a lot of it is your fingering style and phrasing, but that was the closest I have heard to emulating the LC dumble tone.

Well, I suppose if I have to sound like somebody, better Larry Carlton than Brett Michaels......thanks!  I don't own Last Night, but I'll be sure to get a copy.
Just a stock 06 Les Paul standard into an
un-modded S and M 50 watt plugged into a two rock 1x12 speaker cab.
Rock switch on, all others off, everything else at 12 o clock except the overdrive on 9 o clock.  Kleinulator, nanoverb, and Suhr Mini Mix in the loop.  Volume was a bit below average speaking level.
 A bit of line six delay on the floor before the input.
The Mini Mix made an ENORMOUS difference in the way the amp responded.  Without it, even with the Klein, the amp was rather flat and unresponsive with the Nanoverb in series.

Thanks so much.  I wasn't looking for a new amp or had even heard of Ceriatone when I stumbled on one of your youtubes , and was struck by your stellar tone.    I always thought a lot o the Dumble magic was in the  upper harmonics, so I went for the S and M, with parts to mod to the standard OTS if I didn't like it.  The HRM/non HRM clip was particularly helpful.  I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Thanks for that info, very interesting. But unfortunately that info has generated even more questions for me:
1. Is it the the original Mini-mix or Mini-Mix II?
2. Klein & Mini-mix are both supposed to be in the amp's effects  loop with processed effects looped to them. So are you putting the Mini-mix and Klein in series or parallel and then Nanoverb through one of those two?
3. My understanding is that the Mini-mix has to have a 100% wet signal (do you just dial out the dry signal on the Nanoverb?)
4. Why not have the L6 delay in the loop?
5. Are you using the "level" control of the Nano Verb to control the overall volume? (or perhaps the Klein?) My OTS would be much louder than "average speaking level"  with the Vol and Master at 12' O'Clock
6. Have you tried the setup without the the Klein? If so, do you still get the same tone at "bedroom levels"?

To answer your questions,
1-It's a regular minimix.  I probably should have gone for the 2, and used it to go direct into some of my other amps with out a loop, but I got lazy and couldn't find any stores that had them in stock last week.
2-Send of amp>Klein running mini mix in send and return>nanoverb in loop of klein
3-Yes, 100% wet, regulate reverb with nano output
4- I like having the line 6 on the floor, and don't want to run all the extra cable to get to the loop.  Also,  i prefer the sound of the delay distortion to vary with volume like the guitar does.  Using a ducking type delay setting is critical when using distortion to keep things from getting too mucky.
5-see 3
6-The amp sounds great without the klein, but a little smoother and better with. Other alternatives considered would to either use a wet monitor, or easier, a 2X12 (stereo cab)with a second speaker powered by a small clean amp w. reverb (inside the cab) running from the mic'd first speaker,.... but it all gets so complicated and heavy.  Minimix was simplest alternative, with acceptable result.
Most critical element...I read somewhere that Robben Ford plays very lightly, and only digs in with the right hand for emphasis.  This amp in particular seems to really like that approach, as opposed to say, a cranked Fender, which seems to respond well to, say a Stevie Ray right hand with lots of muscle.

Thanks for your thorough response to my questions. The one thing I did not see was your method of volume control. i.e. getting  a nice OD tone at BR volumes. I use a BBE Sonic Maximizer which really sounds great, but it boosts my signal so much that I can't put my amp volume above 2 without being too loud for anything but a large auditorium or outdoor venue. I use a TC G Sharp for my reverb & delay and it has a level control that helps but it can't be turned down below 12 O'Clock with out losing some tone. So your volume control method is very interesting to me.

Last thing....what is your OD  trimmer set at?
