hi, I kept the overdrive low (around 3) and Volume quite high (around Cool. No PAB and rock switch on. Ratio is low and Presence is half way up. The guitar is quite bass friendly too.

cheers.

I've found about 3 is all I like as well. Marin, where do you have the internal trimmer set? Mine's at about 10:00-10:30. I have also recently added the tweeked layout parts from Nik.

Marin,

Thanks for posting all the clips. Not boring at all. I check here regularly  to see if you've posted more. You have the sound that I hear in my head. Are you doing anything special as far as effects, recording techniques, mods, etc... I have been considering an overtone for quite a while based on your clips. I mostly play a tele.

No, nothing special.

No mods.....yet. Cheesy

When I record, I record at low volume and with a standard Shure SM57. I typically tend to use a bit of delay and/or reverb.

thanks

I inquired about the setting with Nik a few weeks ago.  Since mine is going to be a complete cab I wanted the ten o'clock setting many preferred and wanted to stay clear of the marshall sound.  Anyhow, Nik said he characteristically sets them at 10 o'clock from the factory so I am hoping that is what you, Marin have yours set on.  I have a 335 and your Tokai sounds killer and you have made me want a Tele in the worst way.

My good friend Peter Wood (Woody) recorded little clip with my overtone and loved it. Here is a link to clip  http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6689873

And here is a link to his amp test page where hi is demoing his amps: Two Rock Kimok, Skrydstrup, Bludotone and D’lite 44 as well as my Ceriatone.

That was very sweet. The beginning of Red House is what I am going for that tone is awesome. Right now my amp seems to like my bartolini single coil in the neck position on this cheap Dean guitar that sounds just great rather than the humbuckers I have in my other guitar, I just have to learn how to tweek it and I can't read schematics well enough yet yet to understand where everything is but I'm getting there.
Anyhow really nice playing my friend
