I posted this elsewhere in the forum but decided to put a topic link here because the subject is so useful for others:

The original covers some early problems with the Overtone HRM and how I fixed them sometimes with input from others...

It goes on to show all the fixes I have applied and tells you about a website specifically being developed for the overtone hrm:

just an update for this thread:

I have uploaded that video I was talking about to www.overtonehrm.com

This is playable with a free microsoft plugin.. (silverlight) - dont worry, if its not installed it will ask you....

The video is not designed for techies particularly - its designed for someone who wants an overview of what I did and shows how I fixed the problems later in the video.

It is in very high quality bearing in mind this is the internet and is hosted on my own servers...

I had purchased a complete amp from Nik about 6 months ago, a Overtone S&M 100W.  Love the amp and had been thinking about buying a kit and building a HRM but had talked my self out of it.

Man, now it looks like I am going to have to get one, your web site left me no other excuses.

BTW just for the record... regarding a few of your comments comparing your build to mine (I assume you were talking about my build). Mine obviously is different to yours, 'cause my amp is Bluesmaster type and yours is Skyliner HRM.

Anyway, it seems after your vids, we will have more and more people building new D amps.

Hi Mcinku,

yes you are right - I used your basic pics for my build but soon learned that yours was different  Smiley

Actually I thought yours was some earlier model or something (I could not tell actually exactly which model it was) so I was perplexed at first, but your images did give a little bit of info here and there - so they were actually quite useful to me - thank you.

Anyway, as I developed the build, I did run in to a couple of silly things as I built the amp - and that is not difficult given the actual documentation available (at least for me) so I documented everything I could. I also had a couple of problems in getting the amp to work correctly, but these, although they were simple to fix, they were not actually that easy to find. Some guys on here helped with various suggestions as indeed Nik himself did, Nik found the relay wrong round syndrome, but I found the other.

Anyhow, I am glad that you guys think my efforts were ok. I did enjoy doing this and may make another differing amp in this way in the not too distant future - it was FUN  Smiley

Hey Tony,
What happened to the website showing the video of your build?
I tried to get on the site and it gave me this:

403 - Forbidden: Access is Denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.


I accessed it several times prior and thought it was a great site.

Yo Dudes....

My Appologies - we have moved over 500 domains since sunday last (5am)  Undecided and I am a bit cranky from all that.

What happened was that the site had a default of the wrong home page so the site failed to load.

Secondly the video has had to be uploaded again (Im doing that now so it might take an hour or so from this post).

But it's coming back on in all it's glory.

Im glad you boys like that site... I really enjoyed building the amp and making the video.

It will be back presently...   all the way from Milton Keynes (where it used to be) to Manchester UK (where it is now).

The internet is an awesome thing - especially if you think that an email can move at 3000 miles per second!

Trust you all continue to visit my site...
