I need to choose one of these faceplates for my amp.  It will be housed in a Flame Maple and Ribbon Walnut cabinet.

Which would you choose?

Do you have a pic of the cabinet?

Is the Walnut or the Maple the dominant colour in the cab?

I'd tend to go for a contrasting faceplate...

Then I would go with the walnut, like the amp in the picture, so that it gives the nice contrast.

Personally, I think you are overdoing the wood finish thing.

However, I come from the land of Bang & Olufsen, which is probably why I prefer more subtle, somewhat  cooler, Bauhaus like designs.  Cool

Personally I love customised cabs, however if you ever take it to a gig you'd better play aswell as your amp looks!

Thats why I prefer an understated headshell/cab, my playing wouldn't live up to a beautiful creation like the Soultone.

Blues:  I make custom guitar knobs and other stuff out of wood so I have a thing for custom wooden goodies.

Hywelg:  LOL!  This amp will never leave my house.  Well, maybe to go to the studio.  Wink

Once I get the cabinet, I may make  yet another set of plates.  This one in Walnut.  We'll have to see when the cabinet arrives.  This amp will have all custom wood knobs on it, too.  Maybe I'll even make a wooden cable!  If I could only get it to pass current.

I fully respect that you are making a 'showcase' amp, which pictured alongside your custom products, will help boosting your custom guitar knob business.
