well yesterday i tried something that i wanted to share. i placed a real tube distortion pedal in my FX loop(i dont have a kleinulator) i set the volume on the pedal to full and the drive low enough so it stayed clean but still got a nice boost. I set the EQ on the pedal to about 30-40% treble, 100% mids, and 85% bass.
This seems like a dark setting  but it added alot of sparkle but also fattened the tone and gave me way better punch and bass response.

this is similar to the pedals B.K. Butler makes. David Gilmour owns two.

but i strongly recommend trying this
