There's a new Overtone Special Layout published on the ceriatone site...dated 26th August.

Any ideas what the changes are?

I'll venture a studied opinion and say that Nik has formally incorporated some of the changes that were offered here in early summer based on the Ayan/Lerner/Zucker mods and subsequent discussions.

When comparing the April 1 rev to the August 26th revision I stopped counting after seeing no fewer then a dozen tweaks.

I think he did those in the May update. (I have the May version)

I'm curious about these last changes as well.

A dozen changes Huh?? what are talkin about?

There are only two changes in the august version compared to the may version!!

A: decreased snubbercaps on V2 from 390pf in may to 330 pf in august
B: decreased resistor value in the PSU the 3K9/2W has been reduced to 3K3/2W increasing PWR line plate voltages.

No big changes - and not important changes as well - Check the tweaks in the forum to see some of the important mods.

I think there was a change on the bass pot cap from .0012uf to .001uf, too.

I didn't have the May layout.  My comment was comparing April to current.  Still it was an interesting exercise.

what would be the effect of those last changes?

Ad A) The lower snubber values on V2 gives more highs, when engaging the OD
Ad B) The lower resistor in the PSU gives more preamp anode voltages

Whether this is good or bad depends on preamp tubes used, taste etc.. its all very subjective
