Does this qualify as "clean"?? Huh?

Sure does Marin - beautiful tone!  It's great to see this side of the overtone - clean, fenderish but with a lot of sustain.  Was this the clean channel with the level up a bit or the overdrive channel with the OD down low? Also, was this through the Jensen or the Celestion?

This was with the OD channel (no PAB, DEEP, BRIGHT or ROCK) with volume around 6, OD around 2 and Ratio around 2. Master was at 1 and Presence at 3.

I used the Celestion which I much prefer.

thanks to all for the nice comments.

Marin, thanks for all the great clips, you and spm are selling a lot of amps for Nik.
What kind of delay did you use on the last clip with the strat? Was that the g12-65 spkr?

thanks.

I typically use a DD-3 in the loop and then add reverb in the mix.

I have just bought a reverb pedal so I now have my "what-you-hear-is-what-you-get" setup.

I might change the DD-3 because it has a bit too much of that digital high-end sizzle (not a bad pedal overall, though). Any suggestion?

the speaker was the G1265.

Marin-

whoa- great tones Marin- clean but with that juicy compression- nice! Hell-  that's making the wait for my Overtone all the worse! Should be with me soon I hope- been 7 weeks now since order- Nik? Nik?  Tongue Tongue Tongue AArrggh! Nurse! Nurse! the curtains!!!

Seriously- I recommend the new EH memory Man with Hazarai- it does lots of weird/fun stuff too but has a really nice spring/amp reverb sims & you can roll off the highs of the repeats & using it last night was able to get that nice Robben Ford slapback/reverb tone easily-  will use mine in the effex loop of the Overtone....one day....

Cheers, Mitch

Thats interesting. I was checking out the demo's on Youtube the other day and they were all either trying to mimic THe Edge from U2 or a 1982 Space Invaders video game.  Cheesy

So it can do a decent delay and reverb combined? Is it fairly transparent in the tone?

thanks

Marin-

you can do the weird stuff if needed- but as far as I can tell the EH MM stereo w/hazarai has true bypass- (if you pull the plug on the DC supply the guitar signal remains un-affected - a good sign) but you can easily program it for some very warm natural delays with a hint of reverb which is my scene really- I have to say it replaced my Line 6 DL4 which I found to be a REAL tone sucker unfortunately....IMHO it sounded great with my band last night, I play in a blues based power trio format, and it really helped to create space & warmth in a small venue.  I used it in-line with my old 1969 Marshall plexi Superlead into a 1972 Marshall 2x12 with G12-65 & V30 speakers.  I have to say to change presets needs a lot of bending over- so I'm looking forward to just putting it on top of the Overtone using the send/returns etc... certainly it sounds a lot better than the boss DD5's etc... which can be a bit 'gritty/strident' sounding.

Cheers, Mitch

Marin-

well you made me sign up to youtube- so here's a clip with the Memory Man proving subtle reverb & slapback- Zendrive 2 providing the Overtone tones (sort of) - I didn't feel particularly inspired - but what the heck- now I've got my account in place will post clips when my Overtone arrives any...time...now.... please?  Cheesy (hopefully the embed works- I'm a bit new to all of this!)

Cheers buddy,

Mitch.

Nice tones and playing Mitch.

That Zen-thing is really something! Smiley I think that you will like your Overtone.

The pedal sounds good i.e. I can't tell that you are using one (i.e its transparent)!

Can you do another clip with say a 350-400ms delay? Thanks!

Hey Marin
i have a tech 21 boost D.L.A. and its amazing, its all analog and you can dial in a tube tape echo sound perfectly, it even can get a "warble" effect that tape echoes get from worn out components. or you can get a nice warm slap back. It has a tone knob to dial in the warmness or brightness of the delay and it also has a built in boost which is quite nice.

Great clips. I agree with Marin. That Zendrive is porbably the best pedal I have ever heard. Why oh why did I buy an Overtone. This is much cheaper.  Wink

Try an Ethos Pedal. I happen to think it is better than a Zendrive-More tube like IMHO. Cool
