I have an ODS later model with the OD trim pot inside. How difficult would it be to add a pot on the back panel ala the new bluesmaster amp layout. Is the 100K L pot mean linear? Is it an easy mod? Can I just remove the old trimmer and bring wires over from the old circuit board location to the new pot? any Noise issues? I think it would be a great advantage to be able to dial in the OD amount on a gig.
I appreciate any input from forum members.

I did mine a long while ago (and the FET) when I was building it. I used shielded cable and Nik does in the bluesmaster.  I used a small diameter pot Linear I think, but I really can't remember, same value as the trim pot. I used the spare holes in the back panel.

If you're competent with a soldering iron its a doddle. You'll need some heatshrink for the cable shield.

easily done... no noise issues (use shielded cable)

... definitely worthwhile mod

Exactly how did you mount the small pot to the back panel? Could I use a larger pot, Linear, 100K like the volume knobs?

What size wire did you use? 22/4 shielded good enough or heavier shielded cable?

Any special routing on the wiring?

I doing this because (even being extremely careful) I got zapped big time last night, even using a 100% non-conductive plastic trim adjuster.

Guess what? It HURT! It jumped about 3-5 inches to get to my hand.
