So I have an HRM-50 OTS built by Nik and team.  Have read a few posts stating that you can directly drop in EL34's and replace the stock 6L6's.  Just want to confirm that is true, swap out tubes, simple bias changes, and then you're good to go?

thanks,
sean

Hi Sean,

Yes, no prob.  I'm currently running vintage Siemens el34's in mine.  During a long thread of notes between Nik and I during the order process I learned that the standard HRM circuit power section is el34 friendly.

Me likey.

Very good. Thanks, I have a set of Mullards that I'm itching to try in my HRM-50.
Thanks,
Sean

Remember that you're still going to want to re-bias with the new tubes...

Yep, thanks for the reminder. Swapped them out and as of now plan to leave the EL-34's installed they sound great.

Glad they worked out well for you.  Mine are staying in for the time being as well.
